We were familiar with Lone Pine and really like the main street vibe and the restaurants and shops, along with the snow covered mountains nearby. This home was very walkable to the main street and it was super clean and had the amenities we were looking for. Especially liked the comfortable bed, washer and dryer inside, and faux fireplace that provided a nice atmosphere in the living room. Had off street parking and easy entry to home and good communication with our host via the vrbo app. Would rent again!

Great gem of a property. We visited in the winter and found it warm and comfortable. We were able to enjoy the space with our young kids. Good location away from the noise of 395, but walking distance to town and all the Lone Pine restaurants.

This property is immaculately kept. Every detail was thought of. The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee and cream ready to use. And the bathroom included shampoo and conditioner for our use, which we very much appreciated. The property owners even left out laundry pods so we could go home with clean laundry if we so desired! It was just my 26 year old daughter and myself on this visit, and the space was perfect for 2 but the hosts provided an air mattress for additional guests should you need more space. My daughter also napped on the couch and reports that it is very comfortable too. The street is quiet and well kept. The view of the picturesque little church across the street with the backdrop of the mountains looks like a post card and the house is just a few easy to walk blocks away from main street restaurants and shopping. The wifi made ordering pizza from the local pizza place quick and easy (and the pizza was delicious) and the DVD collection made us smile.

We had a great 3-night stay at Darlene’s bungalow. Everything was exactly as described both in the description and the photos. It’s a very quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the Alabama Hills and Whitney Portal. Even if you weren’t able to score permits for Mt. Whitney you can at least do a 6-7 mile round trip hike to Lone Pine Lake. It’s gorgeous! Plenty of eateries around town and some interesting attractions in Lone Pine. All in all we highly recommend Darlene’s place!

Again... our second stay was just as great as the first one. The neighborhood is peaceful and the home is well appointed. The one a/c is sufficient as long as all interior doors are open. The extra bonus is that the bungalow is within walking distance to Main Street.

Perfect and Roomy Bungalow

We loved our stay here! It is a very spacious, clean and cozy house. The bed and linens felt like we were sleeping in a five-star luxury hotel. Even the art and decor were warm and inviting. It is conveniently located near restaurants, the market and Mt. Whitney. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and safe. I felt comfortable driving my partner and nephew to the trailhead at 1 am and coming back on my own. Owner is very friendly and promptly responded even when I had silly questions. Mount whitney day hike

Darlene's rental was perfect location foe my spouse and I to stay before and after our mount whitney day hike. The location was convenient, the house was clean and comfortable, and the price was very reasonable. Darlene sent out all the info we needed the day before we arrived. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area!

Home away from home

As described. My daughter and I made some amazing memories in Lone Pine. The stay in the bungalow was the icing on the cake. We made it a mile to the summit of Whitney and came back to a warm clean space with all the convinces of our home without the drive.

Power went out 2nd night. Darlene sent power company who determined a major electrical issue in the house, forcing us out. Darlene issued a full refund. Satisfied.

Comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood

This is the 2nd time my hiking buddy & I have stayed here. It's clean and the A/C works well. The neighborhood is quiet so you can get to sleep early for those early morning hikes. There's an air mattress there that you can set up in the living room, but I brought my own. Plenty of room for a queen-sized one. Great hiking trip - no complaints!
