John is a friendly new host who communicates well. I think we are among the first to stay in his property. Check in was relatively easy with key in a lockbox. Parking is on-street but we always found a spot within a block of the unit. The unit is spacious with 2 bedrooms, a master bath and 2nd bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, and dining area adjacent to the living room. There was scaffolding up for painting the exterior of the building but the workers started about 9 am and weren’t a bother. If you are looking for something convenient to Sawtelle, Westwood, Brentwood, and UCLA, the Tree House is a good option. Both the neighborhood and the building are quiet. We were there on a Friday night and didn’t hear a peep. This unit is the truest original form of a home share. It is made available when the owner is away, meaning closets and dressers are full, so we lived out of our luggage. It is not an investment grade property like several units we have stayed in, so we experienced some lived-in touches such as small slightly soiled spots on the carpet. Overall though the unit was generally clean.
