Great room, insane check-out adherence policy

Overall a great stay, it's a nice hotel and my girlfriend and I loved our 3-day stay in our room with a balcony. Take caution, though: they are *extreme* (and a bit unprofessional) about strict adherence to check-out time. Check-out time is 11am, and on our last day we got a knock on our door promptly at 11:06 am asking when we would be vacating the room. I told them we just needed a few more minutes - 10 minutes at most - and we would be out. At 11:15 am, as we were leaving the room, I received a text message from a staff member informing me that if we did not leave soon, they would make a charge on my reservation and/or revoke my ability to stay at Kasa hotels in the future. ...this was 15 minutes past check-out time. Were we late? Admittedly yes. ...by 15 minutes. Threatening to charge my account and revoke my ability to stay at their properties in the future? What hotel threatens that for being 15 minutes late? It's not as if we were walking out of our room at 1pm... I very much understand hotels are busy, they need time to clean rooms and prep for next guests, etc. I get it. But you don't take those measures against someone who's running a few minutes (!!) behind. Anyway, nice hotel. Good location. Get the room with the balcony, it's great. Only downside to the room was that the carpet was not well maintained (stained, dirty, etc). And make damn sure you're out of that place by 11am on the mf dot!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.Also, the hotel was cute and clean itself.I loved my room. Keep in mind. You are in the middle of downtown l. A, so it is loud. It is dirty.There are lots of homeless.If you don't mind that, then it's a great place to stay with reasonable pricing

I had a wonderful one-night stay at the STILE and when I come back to LA, I will find myself back here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, as were other guests when asking them about the hotel. The room I stayed in was stylish and had many complementary items. Definitely one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in!

Very unique and cool hotel. Management was in great communication about how everything was going and if we needed something. Unfortunately, you have to use public parking garage at about $30 per day. Lots of dining options. It's in East LA. Just be aware of your surroundings while walking. Everyone we met was helpful and nice.

This was my first time in LA, so I really had to depend on reviews to find a place to stay for the 1.5 days I was here. The STILE did not disappoint. The room was clean, the place itself was clean. I loved the espresso cafe one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. Raspberry cream cheese danish amazing. The staff was friendly. I was afraid because of how low the bed was that it would be uncomfortable and it was not. The water pressure and temperature of the shower was perfect for me. Comfortable walking distance to a lot of places. If I had to complain about anything it would be the elevator. As far as if it wanted me to put the code in or not. Sometimes it would move without the code other times it required the code. Also, the outside noise ( they do provide a white noise machine and ear plugs which did help a little ) I know they can’t control this , being woken up @ 7am by a lady yelling at the top of her lungs at someone was a bit much. Would I stay here again? I plan on it !

Disappointing

We did NOT end up staying at this hotel, as we were disappointed with the appearance of the room (714). If you're looking for a traditional luxury room, this is not that! I was told the unfinished aspects of the room are part of the unique design and ambience of the property. The vanity and bathroom/shower are updated but the rest of the room was unexceptable. The orange carpet had cigarette burns and the small dresser that had coffee cups on it had surface damage and was dirty looking, the walls looked unfinished and not sure what type of material covered them but was also stained. There was a light when you walk in but no other lights except a small lamp on the desk behind the bed. I will say customer service was great and I got my $250 security deposit and room charge refunded in a timely manner. The person at the door and counter were very helpful. I had questions regarding my identity verification and I also got a response right away.
