Nice hotel in downtown LA

The hotel rooms are very spacious & comfy. The bed was so comfortable. I love that the room had a fridge, stove top & oven to allow you to cook instead of go out to eat all the time. There is a washer & dryer in the room. The workers are so nice & helpful. The only negative is that it doesn't have on-site parking. There is a small parking lot behind the hotel - cost is $30/night. You are in downtown LA so it's kinda ghetto with lots of homeless & smells like pee as you walk down the sidewalk. As nice as it is, I don't think I'd stay here again.

Property is very nice. Loved the inside and how roomy it was. There’s plenty of parking lots around the area but it would be great if they give overnight discount for hotel guests. No in and out privileges. Would not stay there again because of parking issue.

Marriott purchase Hiccups

I do really like this Sonder it’s my second stay, however… the hiccups I. Joining Marriott are unbearable. I was locked out with a wrong code in downtown LA at midnight after having checked in as a woman alone. Two blocks from skid row. Straight wild. Unsafe. Despite being Marriott silver. One would think it got better…..

Hotels.com showed a room available. Sonder The Craftsman showed a room available. I booked a room, received a confirmation, and then the reservation was cancelled by The Sonder. Apparently, they had NO ROOMS available. I was blocks away from the hotel when I found out.

First time staying here and overall was very pleased. Room was spacious, clean and had amazing features - kitchenette with dishwasher and garbage disposal, laundry machine and dryer, etc. Staff was friendly and very prompt when asking for both towels and a microwave. Only downside was the area nearby that was very loud - would wake up from loud booms. Though this is not a fault of the hotel, and they provide earplugs which worked wonderfully. The security presence and passcode entry also made me feel safe and protected. Overall would stay again!

Inside, the hotel was clean, safe, spacious and the rooms were well equipped which made it a pleasant 3-week stay. Unfortunately, this part of DTLA is dirty and once you step outside you smell of urine everywhere. Lot of homeless people around. Sad state of the city! Lots of walkable things to see within 30 mins. Good dining options nearby as well. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of affordable parking options nearby. The garage at 835 South Hill street was a very clean and safe covered lot 5 mins walk away. We were able to park there for a monthly price of just $200 purchased through a 3rd party app.
