Convenient, great value and spacious

Spacious well-equipped room for the week in Melbourne. Easy check-in and as a former Quest Apartments building it’s well laid out, secure with parking on site. Close to transport and shops too.

Very unclean. Disappointing. Would not recommend this property. Stayed two years ago but it has declined since then. The list of things wrong with the rooms and common areas is too long to describe.

This property was managed by different companies so building access was confusing as there were different instructions for different companies depending on who you're booked with. Our room at the Beaumont was dated and not overly clean. We had to move some of the furniture aside to retrieve something only to find rubbish from previous stays that hadn't been cleared. The kitchenette was basic with old hot plate and fridge which didn't look like they were cleaned routinely. In fact the main photo that came up in Expedia showing the modern kitchen was nothing like what we had in our room. Now looking back at the photos, they really did not truly represent the condition of the rooms or at least not ours. The bathroom was renovated so that was the best part of our room.

Very basic and the beds are terrible. The reception guy was lovely. The room was basic and could have done with a really good clean. The smoke alarm had been removed. Overall it was in a good area with plenty of cafes around. Not sure I’d stay here again but it’s cheap and you get what you pay for I guess.

Went to check in and they couldn’t find our booking, waited 30mins for the lovely front desk person to organise and give us a room, gave us a upgrade but sadly with the hotel being so outdated it wasn’t much of an upgrade. The room was dirty and the shower flooded sending water into the living area. Someone got robbed overnight and people were very loud and wasn’t a very nice stay. But the front desk person made the stay a little more welcoming so thank you to him!

There were 2 TVs in the room. One on wall not plugged in. One on a thin unstable table, turned on but no picture. So no TV for entire stay.The carpet was filthy, dead bugs all over the bathroom roof, thin bed linen that had stains, pillow cases weren't even put on properly, could see blood stain on one pillow, door swipe card was temperamental and wasn't easy to use, an old, faded and dirty corner lounge thing in the room looked like it was from roadside trash, bed bases not concealed and had bits hanging, bedside table was dirty. Upon wiping it down, the cloth was brown. Walls were dirty. Worst room that we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot. Unfortunately we booked for 3 nights, so sucked it up but never again. Only 2 rolls of toilet paper provided, no tissues in room either. Hallway lights weren't working at all on the last night, so very dark getting back to your room. The hallway was dirty on arrival and same when left, 3 nights later. Didn't get vacuumed during our stay. Windows were also filthy. Just yuck.

I didn't have high expectations from the reviews but I needed somewhere affordable to stay for a friends wedding. The rooms are quite outdated but the bathrooms are lovely. I checked the room over when I got there and it seemed to be quite clean. The location of the power points behind the bed revealed that the room had not been deep cleaned in some time. Layers of dust were behind the bed and when I opened the blinds, it was like the windowsill had never been cleaned before. When I went to bed, I went to lock the door but the lock was broken. I had to use a side table to baracade myself in. When I woke in the morning, I was DISGUSTED by the condition of the doona. It was covered in stains and yellow. As I had checked in past 6pm on my first night, I was given a code for the front door and my room and was told to see reception the next day for my card, which I did. After attending a wedding, I arrived at the hotel at midnight and could not get into my room. I had to call after hours reception and the man that came to assist me very helpful. He had to go back and forth from my room and reception to figure out the issue and discovered they'd put the wrong room number on my card. I finally got into the room at 12:30am. While this stay is affordable, the rooms need some serious cleaning, attention and updates.

Dirty and unsafe

To start with we booked the family room, where we arrived they had 2 seperate rooms as they and no family rooms available, one room on the first floor, the deadlock didn’t work, the window didn’t lock leaving us feeling unsafe. The room itself was dirty, with dried vomit on the floor, broken glass shards on the floor and holes in the wall. Definitely avoid.

The overall impression would be so much better if the curtains were not hanging off the rods and were designed to actually open. The same hoes fir the wobbling kitchen tap. And i would have liked to be able to open a window which were stuck. Comfy beds and a good size room.
