Located in the heart of the Lys Valley between Cholet, Angers, and Saumur, the small Gaucherie aux Dames cottage is located in the town of Montilliers in Maine-et-Loire.

Ideal for a stay as a couple or a family with children, this small, detached, single-story house is located in a complex comprising the owners' house and two other cottages. The owners will be delighted to share with you the history of this former castle-turned-farmhouse, as well as their commitment to the social and solidarity economy.

The cottage consists of a living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen (gas stove, microwave, oven, etc.), a bathroom with a shower and toilet, a bedroom with a 140x190cm double bed, and a living room with a sofa and television, which also serves as a sleeping area with two 90x190cm single beds.

In the summer, you can enjoy the outdoor space with your garden furniture and stroll around the property, which also houses guest rooms and another gîte. You can admire the view of the Lys Valley (a small river flowing into the Layon and then the Loire) and discover the sheep and horses in the surrounding meadows. The ruins and moat (unsecured) of the old castle are also part of the landscape, as is a hiking trail.

It's possible to purchase local products from the property's permaculture approach in the summer (once a week). The nearest shops are located in the town of Vihiers, 6 km away.
