Overall I enjoyed the location of this hotel, it was easy to walk to Old Montreal in under 20 minutes, as well as several museums and other good locations. The lobby offered coffee and the front desk folks were helpful. My room was on the 5th floor, and it has a window air condition unit. At certain times of day it was quite hot (I was here July). The mattress/bedframe could have used an additional support, it sagged a bit in the middle, but was not bad. There were a few things missing, like a toilet paper holder (the tp just sat on the back of the tank) There are lots of bars in the area and there is noise like sirens and people until quite late. Over all it was exactly what I needed within a price range I was comfortable with for a solo trip. I can’t give a full 5 stars due to some of the things I mentioned earlier, but I don’t have complaints of my experience.

I will say the staff were very kind, location was very convenient for attending a concert, and the building itself had character... However. Drawbacks included.. not a clean space.. the carpet was very dirty, as were the windows and surfaces. The toilet was leaking water, the bathroom door didnt lock. There was no microwave or coffee machine in the room. There was no key card for the doors which felt unsafe as i had to memorize both the code for the front door and for the main door. This would all be manageable but on top of this the neighborhood seemed very unsafe. I'm someone who had worked with homelessness and substance use so i usually feel safe in seedy neighborhoods.. but this was particularly dangerous feeling. The parking suggested by the hotel wasn't accessible because of large crowds of people who appeared to be using drugs heavily in the alley you need to take to get to the parking garage. At about 11pm all these crowds moved out into the main street. From my window i could witness sex workers, lots of substance use, and around midnight a violent incident led to the street being closed off by police and ambulances. It was quite scary... The staff were very helpful and reassuring, but if you plan on being out at night at all i would not recommend this hotel unfortunately. I rarely leave poor reviews but i wish i had been prepared for my night here. I was quite shaken witnessing the events out front of the hotel.

This property is in a great location, convenient to metro/downtown/old town. This property is undergoing quick fix renovations. The entrance picture of the hotel is staged and not the current look. Largest concern about this property is safety. There is a passcode to get in the lobby and for your room, but there is no deadbolt in your room and no one is verifying that an individual is staying at the hotel.

The pictures on Expedia are misleading. Our room was tiny, barely fit two double beds. The door to the room touched the foot of the bed when open. The PORTABLE a/c unit was very loud. The furniture was mismatched and in poor condition. The paint on the bathroom door was peeling. The bottom of the tub was extremely worn and had been painted to attempt to cover the worn area. The hotel doors are locked and you need to be buzzed in. No security on site from what I could tell. Front desk area is a makeshift desk (table). There was a person from the nightclub next door passed out in the lobby when we arrived. We left the next day and found an amazing hotel down the street.

The property manager was incredibly helpful and did a lot to help make our stay work. We have beautiful views and the hotel is right in the center of all the action. Perfect for a weekend if you are going out!
