We initially liked the place — the staff were friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. However, the property felt somewhat messy. The entrance appeared unfinished, the bathroom wall had a hole, the furniture was inexpensive, and the bed was quite hard. It’s been a while since I stayed at a 4-star hotel, but this certainly does not feel close to a 5-star experience. The walls were very thin, and on our last night, we had to leave at 11 p.m. and find another hotel because the room was literally vibrating from loud music coming from below. To be fair, this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, and they did reimburse us for that night, which we appreciated. Overall, while the staff were kind and helpful, the quality just didn’t meet our expectations. It’s worth paying a bit more elsewhere for a truly comfortable and well-maintained stay.

Not a great choice

Feom check in and nearly choking on the front desk body odour to finding multiple bugs in our room. I would never stay here again. Don't get me wrong, the front guy was excellent for the work he performed, but a shower and a good fumigation of the room and actually cleaning the floors, this would be a great place!

The room was great, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. My only comment was, in the bedroom there was a ventilation noise throughout our stay. It was alittle hard at first but once u get used to the humming, it’s ok.

Our group of 4 had an excellent stay at the Mercer. The room was very clean and modern. Parking was easy and convenient, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we had access to all amenities. Public transit was less than a block away. The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Mercer Boutique Hotel. It was our first time in Montreal (and Canada) and our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 young children) could not have felt more welcome. Some things to know when booking this hotel- 1. There is a receptionist/employee at the front desk at all times 2. The parking is in a lot across the street from the hotel and is included in the cost of the room 3. There is an elevator into the hotel but it takes 3-4 steps to get from the street into the hotel so it may be hard with a wheelchair 4. There is a grocery store (IGA) and playground around the corner 5. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and you can get to the subway/underground city in about 15 minutes 6. There was laundry in our unit which was incredibly convenient, as was the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathrooms 7. The room/suite and common areas were incredibly clean Hope this helps, we'll book here again if we ever return to Montreal!

I liked the area and proximity to old Montreal. However, the room was not advertised correctly. It was mentioned 2 king beds and one queen.....the third bed was not a queen but a double. It was also a sofa bed. Not what we planned for 6 adults. Also, there weren't enough chairs for everyone in the kitchen. Only 4 chairs for 6 people. The staff was nice enough to give me a rebate for the inconvenience.

This property is stunning! The pictures don’t lie - impeccably decorated and quite honestly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in! The front desk employees are lovely and extremely helpful. The location is a perfect spot - easy walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. Definitely we will be back! Thank you Mercer for a lovely stay!
