The Nelson is a great place to stay. Right in the middle of the main strip close to beaches ports and all the amenities and restaurants. The hotel it self is extremely well appointed and the staff are credit to the management. I highly recommend this hotel for any one staying in Nelson bay

Loved our stay

We loved our stay in Nelson Bay. The hotel location is great with a popular cafe on site for breakfast and lunch. Very easy walk to town and harbour so lots of choices for eating out. The pool was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a slight problem with the water supply in our room which was just one of those things but the staff responded very quickly and gave us another room straight away. The bed and linen was very comfortable and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The hotel is by a busy road but due to the double doors onto the balcony there was no road noise in the room at all. I would recommend this hotel if planning a visit to Nelson Bay.

Car park needs safety signage

Generally everything was ok. However the ramp down into the lower level car park really needs a sign warning drivers that the curb is extending into the driveway as it is not visible when making a turn. I ended up damaging the side skirt of my car as there is now way a driver in a regular height car can see it, car sensors didn't see it either. I've mentioned this to reception staff when checking out. Hopefully they will bring this up with the management as they promised.
