This is where the party gets started.

This location is in the heart of the party. If you want to see Bourbon street at its finest and ugliest, this is the spot to be. The faculty are extremely friendly in the hotel. The hotel itself is very clean. The power plugs next to the bed were very loose, and they need to be updated -- our chargers would just fall out of them. Therefore, we had to use the plugs on the walls. They offer a breakfast option. Honestly, if it wasn't for a couple giving us 100 dollars in free coupons (whoever you were, you are a Godsend), it wouldn't have been worth it. The prices are steep, and the food is not up to New Orleans quality in my opinion. I would have done without this option if i were to do it again. This location, though, is the best you can get. We were 6 minutes away from our food tour. We basically walked everywhere, which saved us on a rental car. I would definitely stay here again without the breakfast option.

Not the quality I expected

We were in town around Easter. The air conditioning unit had a noise problem. It would make a noise every 10-20 seconds which at night was like water torture you would wait for the next knock. Maintenance came up after 2 complaints and said that was normal and then said he fixed it. That lasted about 5 hours. We just endured it for next 5 nights. The balcony isn’t actually a patio but an outside walkway where people could walk through your “patio” at all hours. Only bright side of that is it deafened the noise of Bourbon street at night being in the interior courtyard near the pool. The staff were good for the most part especially Caleb the doorman.

We had a great stay at Royal Sonesta! Staff was extremely friendly from the moment we stepped out of our taxi and was greeted by Caleb! We had interior balcony room and heard no sound from Bourbon St! Pool area was enjoyed by my children. While we traveled with our kids, and didn’t love Bourbon St (didn’t feel unsafe just not our scene) we were able to skirt around the hotel and were able to avoid it which was easy to do! We did however LOVE the Cafe Beignet and music legends park right across the street!

The Royal Sonesta is a really nice hotel. It is right on Bourbon Street so you just need to step out the front door to all the action. It also has a nice pool that we enjoyed.
