The hotel was adequately situated for our purpose for a one night stay. The rooms were very dated but the hotel had character. The beds were comfortable.

The room was comfortable and clean, good size private bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good accommodation with decent food for a fair price.

Poor value for money.

Pros: Nothing. if it is not going to provide restraunt facilities all the time then it should not be included in the facilities misrepresentation really.
Cons: The rooms are in need of updating and who has ever heard of carpet in bathrooms nowadays.
Location: It was convenient for my purposes of visiting the area. As no car not sure what there was to do or see.
Was not told had to book breakfast night I arrived only that the cost. No restraunt facilities available I don't eat curry which left choice of 2 Chinese take always pizza kebab take away or fish and chips. This could have been awkward as I did not have a car with me and bus service is every 2 hours. So other travellers beware and no there is no taxi service they either come from Gloucester or Ross on Wye and that will cost! Room price was too expensive as I had stayed previous 2 nights in Gloucester for less money!

Booked last minute not much available in the area

Pros: Location
Cons: Hotel heating wasn’t working in the room.
Hotel was near to an event we were attending and booked last minute. It was ok bit tired and needs updating. Room was cold on arrival as radiator didn’t work but electric heater warmed it up. Quite noisy as live band in bar and on the Main Street. Rooms are in need of updating. WiFi wasn’t working unfortunately. Was ok for a last minute booking, wouldn’t want to stay again as bathroom was not in the room.

Pub hotel

Pros: The rugby was on TV on the Saturday morning and the staff organised bacon sandwiches for my husband and others to enjoy.
Cons: The decor is in severe need of updating, especially the ancient carpets.
Location: Close to Ross on Wye and Symonds Yat
We found this hotel somewhat dated and the fact that our room did not have an en suite meant that we had to walk along the uneven corridor to (our own) bathroom, which was odd...some may call that quaint. The Town of Newent had very little to offer, so we had to eat at the hotel...however, there was a discount on the fish and chips, and they were delicious. The car park was reached through a very narrow gap along the high street, which was a bit tricky.
