Nestled in a peaceful bay on the beautiful Chandos Lake, Loon Bay Serenity welcomes you with a sense of tranquility that begins before you even step inside. The moment you arrive, you'll know you've found a special retreat, far from the noise of daily life. Framed by lush greenery, the cottage offers a secluded and enchanting escape, its charm accentuated by the gentle calls of loons echoing across the water. Arriving at the front entrance through a cozy screened-in sunroom makes unpacking a breeze, whether it's in the early evening twilight or a gentle rain, setting the stage for the serene adventure ahead.

Stepping into the great room, you're greeted by a space that feels both spacious and intimately cozy. It's a celebration of art and history, with décor that nods to past eras, making each corner a delight to explore. The heart of the cottage is undoubtedly the kitchen—a bright, inviting space where the culinary enthusiasts of the family can work their magic. With ample counter space and a view of the treed entrance, even simple chores like dishwashing become a moment to unwind. The kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining area, where a large table comfortably seats eight, offering easy access to the outdoor deck for al fresco dining on warm summer nights.

The family room, with its vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, invites you to slow down and savor the stunning views of Chandos Lake. Whether you're curled up in front of the woodburning fireplace on a cool autumn evening or soaking up the natural light that floods the space, there's a corner for everyone to relax. The primary bedroom, conveniently located on the main floor, offers a retreat within a retreat—a spacious, sun-dappled haven with a semi-ensuite bathroom just steps away. It’s a perfect spot for those who prefer not to navigate stairs or simply crave a bit of solitude.

Upstairs, three additional bedrooms await—each thoughtfully designed for comfort. Two rooms feature Queen beds and charming corner windows while the third offers a cozy bunk bed setup for the younger guests, complete with toys and books that invite kids to make themselves at home. Outside, the magic continues as you follow a natural stone path down to the lake. The long dock, stretching into the calm bay waters, is perfect for swimming and sun-soaked afternoons. A second, smaller dock closer to the cottage provides an ideal spot to try your hand at fishing, casting lines under the shelter of the trees while soaking in the beauty of Loon Bay Serenity.

Things you need to know:

• A maximum of one non-shedding, hypoallergenic dog is permitted, 2nd dog may be accepted by special approval only (sorry no cats or other pets due to allergies)


• Linens are not provided – please bring your own


• Rentals include a cleaning service; however, the departure checklist must be completed


• This cottage faces east, providing wonderful sunrises and occasional reflected sunsets off the dock


• Limited garbage and recycling pickup is available, but disposal is required prior to departure


• The cottage has a smart TV that will allow you to sign into any of the streaming services you personally subscribe to such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, AppleTV, Disney+, etc. Please note, these services will require your personal login information and are not provided


• Boats MUST be power washed prior to launching on the lake


• 4WD and snow tires are essential for winter access


• Due to the location amid a hardwood forest, no smoking of any kind is permitted anywhere on the property


• There is no dock access in winter (while the dock remains in the water, the ramp to the dock is raised during the winter)

• Chandos Lake Beach. Public beach offering a large, grassy, picnic area, a roped off swim area & swim raft. There is Mobi-mat access for anyone with special access needs. (5 mins)


• Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park.Kawartha Highlands Signature Site is the largest park in southern Ontario after Algonquin Provincial Park, and offers backcountry canoeing, camping, and hiking in any season.(25 mins)


• Winter Activities. Ice fishing is available on the lake (bring your own equipment), and the cottage is near snowmobile trails. Cross-country ski trails are available at the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club (25 mins) or Silent Lake Provincial Park (30 mins).


• Silent Lake Provincial Park. Year-round park offering over 19 km of hiking trails and 17 km of mountain biking trails, with a beautiful lookout point over Silent Lake. There are two sandy beaches. In the winter, more than 34 km of groomed winter cross-country ski trails are available. (30 mins)
