Rocky Haven: Tranquil Lakeside Cottage Near Acadia

Rocky Haven is a charming private cottage situated among evergreens just 100 feet from the Toddy Pond shore with 242 feet of frontage. It’s just 7/10 of a mile off Acadia Highway heading to Bar Harbor. We are 30 miles from Acadia national Park (31 miles from Bar Harbor), 8 miles from Bucksport, 16 miles to Blue Hill, 19 miles from Castine, 28 miles to Belfast, and 27 miles to Bangor (International Airport). So we are strategically located for you to discover the wonders of the Maine coast.



Enjoy cooking fresh Maine lobster and blueberry pie in a full kitchen, or grill steaks in the open air on a gas grill. The living room is the perfect place to sit and relax after a day of adventure in Acadia or kayaking right on the pond, while you watch your favorites on a 55" 4K flat screen Smart TV with a Roku  streaming Fubo TV (200+ channels - Wireless Internet included 1 Gig fiber.). Rest comfortably on a king-sized bed in the lake-view loft master bedroom suite. The first floor also has a full bathroom along with double/twin bunk beds in each bedroom. The cottage boasts a screened-in 400 square foot attached deck where you can enjoy your meals, relax, and listen to the loons, all within perfect view of the woods and lake. Rocky Haven is a 4-season home with all the amenities: in home private washer & dryer, dishwasher, furnace, a heat pump/air conditioner in the master bedroom, and an air conditioner in the living room. Parking for 2 vehicles is available for each cottage.  We provide basic soaps and shampoo, towels, beach towels, bed linens , toilet paper and paper towels, salt, pepper, oil, sugar and some spices, a lobster pot, a blender and kettle, beach chairs, outdoor furniture, and a fire pit .



Guests for our 3Havens cottages all share access to the dock and swim platform. We recommend that guests use water shoes while wading in the lake. Each unit has its own fire pit area and free use of 2 kayaks and a canoe, (a waiver of liability must be signed for usage). We provide approved life-preservers in the bin by the kayaks. Wood for the fire pits may be purchased at Hannaford Supermarket or various roadside stands. Prices run from $5-7 per bundle.

We like to leave our guests to themselves but try to be available when needed. However, should you need us for anything, we live in the upper condo over Toddy Haven.



 Our other 2 vacation rentals are Toddy Haven, a brand new first floor condo with a full kitchen, 1 full bath, sleeping up to 5; and Cozy Haven, a private cottage with 1 1/2 baths, and a full kitchen, sleeps up to 7. They enjoy a shared new laundry facility with 2 washers and 2 dryers ( Rocky has it own laundry facility). You can find each of them on our website, www.3Havens.com.



Each of our Cottages come with additional essentials and amenities that may not be listed in certain platforms. Some of these are:



Overnight basics: Basic soaps, Shampoo & conditioner, paper towels, toilet paper, a baby gate when interior stairs are present, free internet & WiFi at 64 Mbps.



Kitchen and dining area: A large pot, blender, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, interior dining area and screened in dining area each seating 6 comfortably.



Entertainment: A smart TV & Roku player w/Fubo streaming service, some games and water toys for children, 2 kayaks and 1 canoe with varying sizes of life vests and paddles.



NOTE: Just a reminder that no animals are allowed on our properties due to family members with severe asthma issues. No exceptions.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

• Counters, dishes & utensils cleaned & put away. • Empty all foodstuffs from fridge, freezer & cupboards. • Used bed sheets placed in pillow cases. Dirty towels in mesh bag left in bathroom.
• Clean grill, empty grease pan, & turn off gas, replace cover when cool. • Kayaks & Canoe locked. Keys returned to the kitchen window sill. • Garbage in plastic bags placed in dumpster at top of hill
Our Cleaners clean, sanitize, replace linens (includes blankets & bedspreads), sterilize baths, replace supplies, & mop floors. Please let us know of things needing attention or replacement. Thanks!

Great place to stay for our first trip to Maine! It was continently located within an hour of the Bangor airport and Acadia National Park. The house had a great layout and had everything we needed. We loved being able to go down to the water and watch sunset. Mark was a great host and was able to answer any questions before and during our stay in a timely manner.

This was a wonderful place for a family vacation by the lake If you want easy, private lake access, your own firepit lakeside, canoes and kayaks available for use, and several great places to sit and relax while you get away, this is the place. This is one of three homes on the property so it's not completely isolated but all were recently built, well furnished with everything we needed, easy to get to, and exactly what we were looking for. There was plenty of space for our family of four and it was an easy 40 minutes to get to Acadia. Not a lot of close by dining options (at least 10-15 min away) so would recommend cooking at the house. Would 100% stay here again.

Perfect Lakeside Base for Exploring Acadia & Bar Harbor

Rocky Haven was the ideal spot for our Maine getaway — peaceful, private, and just a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor. We loved starting and ending each day by the water, whether paddling on Toddy Pond or relaxing on the screened-in porch listening to loons.The cottage had everything we needed, clean, well-stocked, and super comfortable. The location made it easy to explore nearby coastal towns, then come back to quiet and calm. A great balance of nature and convenience, we’d absolutely stay again!The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, helpful when needed, but respectful of our privacy. It really felt like we were staying at a family friend’s lake house.

Toddy Pond Vacation

This is great property! A quintessential Maine lake front property but with all the modern conveniences of your own home. Newly constructed, perfectly equipped, extremely clean and well-maintained grounds. The property has an awesome screened porch which is a must have for those early summer nights in Maine. The hosts were extremely accommodating and responsive during our stay. I can't say enough good about the property and our 10 day stay. I will definitely be renting again.

Tradition worthy!

I have never been so excited to leave a review before! We knew the place was going to be nice, but we weren't prepared for how amazing everything was. The view was beautiful, the house is phenomenal! So many little details made everything so special. Mark was so helpful and full of knowledge, and we couldn't stop talking about his amazing craftsmanship building the cabins himself! Plenty of room for all 4 adults and 2 kids, too! The amenities were perfect, plenty of pots and pans and all the things we needed to have the perfect stay. We took the kayaks out which was a blast and I'm so grateful for them being available to guests. There was even toys for the littlest kid in the cabin and by the lake, which he really loved. The fire pit was cozy and made for the best evening we had our whole trip! So much laughter and memories made, we all agreed we hoped it becomes a tradition to visit Rock Haven!

Amazing Haven

Everything was wonderful, Rocky Haven was an amazing lake house that had everything we needed. Mark and Laurie are amazing, kind, and quick to respond to anything we needed. My family had a wonderful time fishing, swimming and enjoying the area. I would stay there again and again.

Relaxation and Beautiful Lake Sunsets

Very relaxing. Hosts are very kind and friendly. Great location with antique stores close by. Bar Harbor is a short drive with whale watching and Acadia National Park. The house was nice with a large screen porch with a beautiful view of the lake. The dock has 2 benches for watching the stunning sunsets. The interior of the house is nice and clean. We wish we had more than 7 days to stay, We loved the cooler summer weather. Thanks again for helping us make memories for our family

Beautiful stay in Orland

This cottage was in a beautiful location right by Toddy Pond. The cottage was perfect for our family and we were able to use the kayaks and fire pit while staying there. We met the owners and they were very friendly and helpful, and made sure we knew any details about lights, heating, where to find things, etc. I would absolutely stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay and got to see beautiful fall colors! We visited Acadia NP twice and neighboring towns. Was a perfect place for the 7 of us! The kids loved playing at the lake. Overall great stay!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting!

Rocky Haven was the perfect getaway for our family! The cottage was extremely well appointed, the hosts were super helpful and friendly, and the location was absolutely beautiful. We loved the fire pit right on the water and were enchanted by the haunting call of loons. The big screen TV was also fantastic!

Beautiful lakeside retreat!

This property is beautiful. The house is clean, neat and fully furnished with all the amenities! They have thought of everything to make their guests stay more enjoyable. We enjoyed having breakfast on the back deck overlooking the lake and warming up in the evening with a nice fire in the lakeside firepit. It was so lovely to have access to the kayaks and canoes for our leisurely days. This location is quiet and peaceful and slightly off the beaten path but very easily accessible to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The owners made themselves accessible incase we needed anything or had any concerns during our stay which was wonderful. We can't wait to come back again!

Very comfortable and beautiful views!

We had a great experience with the owners and renting it for the week. I wish we had more pots-pans & lobster pot as well as serving dishes. For entertaining others while staying there. The Doc was such a help getting in the water and out. We really enjoyed it. I would highly recommend renting either of the houses. We left a couple of things we thought others could use such as 2 laundry baskets since there is a washer/dryer. I feel like Mark and Laurie were thoughtful and friendly and made our experience even more special. We bought local blueberries and added them to the pancake mix and used the maple syrup they had for us in the welcome basket. They even had a thoughtful note. We couldn’t have asked for any better - Wonderful Experience!
