I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was fairly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is also convenient—just a short distance from downtown Kincardine.
The biggest drawback was the noise. Our room was near an exit, and because the building is old, sound insulation was poor. We were constantly disturbed by the slamming exit door and loud room doors that required force to close. Hallway conversations and footsteps from the floor above were also clearly audible, making it hard to sleep.
The complimentary breakfast was also poorly managed. Although it was supposed to go until 9:30 AM, food had already run out by 8:45 AM on Friday. On Saturday, it ran out again and wasn’t replenished promptly. Many guests left disappointed.
There were also buckets placed throughout the hotel to catch leaks, which gave the property a neglected feel.
Overall, while the staff and location were positives, the noise, poor breakfast service, and signs of disrepair made this a disappointing stay. With improvements, this hotel could offer a much better experience.
