Finca Anjala - Architectural lodge on sustainable

Welcome to Casa Anjala our Eco-paradise with private rainforests, waterfalls, trails, birdwatching, wildlife, and community activities. Love the nearby whale tail viewing point, and have meals served upon request with an extra fee. Permaculture design, upcycled materials, and mostly bamboo construction.

This 2-bedroom house offers organic amenities, an equipped kitchen, and balconies overlooking nature's wonders. A100% solar power, locally harvested water, and no A/C. Enjoy sustainable farming and farm animals.

The space

Step into a tranquil oasis at our 2-bedroom bamboo house, where each room boasts a queen bed, bunk beds, a cozy hammock, and private balconies offering stunning views. Enjoy the ease of 2 full bathrooms with hot showers and indulge in organic aromatherapy products for a sensory retreat.

The equipped kitchen invites culinary adventures, complemented by a terrace, a dining table seating 8, and ample outdoor furniture for relax lounging. A Nikken water filter enhances every drop from the tap.

Indulge in a marvelous outdoor experience with meals served at the fire pit close to the visitor´s house (upon request).

Laundry service is available for an extra fee. In case you would like to wash your own clothes, you can hand wash and hang on the house clothes drying rack.

Experience the serenity of our surroundings with a picturesque pond and delightful ducks just steps from your door. Immerse yourself in the charm of our diverse farm animals, including hens, turkeys, ducks, cats, dog and our pampered goat named Canela. Nature enthusiasts will delight in the sightings of sloths, butterflies, birds, insects, and other wildlife, creating an immersive experience.

Nestled within the property are three distinct houses: the welcoming bamboo house for visitors (your retreat), the host's bamboo residence, and the farmhand's house. Unwind, connect with nature, and create lasting memories in this unique and harmonious space.

Meal arrangements can be made with a minimum of 2 days' notice, ensuring a seamless blend of comfort and natural beauty during your stay.

Guest access
You´ll have full access to the farm, fire pit, pond, trails, 6-hectare forest, waterfalls, river, and landscaped areas around the houses.

The access to the property requires a 4x4 vehicle for the last 6 km.

Guests have access to the visitor's house but not to the other two houses.

Other things to note

Finca Anjala is Certified Organic Farm.

The farm is qualified under Pago por Servicios Ambientales, FONAFIFO, an initiative that pays farm owners, such as the main host, to protect the forest.

We have wireless internet access, 3GB. Many guests have been successful in getting Wi-Fi on the terrace. However, we cannot guarantee that you will have a stable connection throughout your stay.

Regarding food, we can serve meals for an extra fee. If you want to cook meals yourself, you must shop for groceries prior to your arrival. There is a small ¨pulpería¨ nearby, that sells some necessities, but is not a full supermarket. The big and full supermarket is the one called, BM supermarket, and is located in Palmares, Perez Zeledón ( Daniel Flores - Pérez Zeledón).

We stock the kitchen with cooking utensils and drinking water.

Things to bring: insect repellent, sunscreen, flashlight or headlamp, hiking shoes, food, refillable water bottle, rain jacket. Nights are chilly.
