Great property and location

We had a fantastic week here. Location is everything and this didn’t disappoint. Right on a lovely cycle track to Omaha beach (which was beautiful) and right next to the town with a great fishing bustle, lots of restaurants and some souvenir shops. A great centre to explore the history of the area as well as be active.

Great place to stay in Normandy

The house was comfortable, well-maintained and in a great location. Jean-Luc and Astrid were responsive to every request. We throughly enjoyed our visit.

Great stay at Port-en-Bessin

The house was a nice walking distance to shops in Port-en-Bessin (although up and down the hill into the town made for good exercise). Quiet. Nice hiking from the house. Astrid, the property manager, was wonderful. She was very responsive to our communication and also very aware of the covid measures (she always wore a mask when at the house during check-in or check-out or when exchanging towels and linens. We especially enjoyed fresh seafood from the market on the pier and the public markets on Saturday.

Every aspect of this house suited us ideal for two adults. Superb location with short walk to the lovely port and free fireworks every Friday evening. Only one problem? That driveway entrance needs levelling out as I scraped my car underneath even being very careful. Would stay again anytime 😊

Lovely property on the edge of the town

A lovely property on the edge of the town. A steep walk up the hill but well worth it for the views (note mainly from up starts windows). One word of caution - if driving a large car or one with limited ground clearance - the road is narrow and the drive way tight. The entrance first has a small kerb then loose material before a raised ridge of concrete. This is badly worn on both sides making access difficult. Loose large stones had been put to assist by previous people but one of these stood up and badly damaged a car panel when we arrived. Suggest parking just up the hill by the golf course (20m). Apart from that a great stay! We would recommend to friends and family.

We spent a wonderful week at Maison Le Refuge Portais as a family of four. The location is truly special - set next to the old lighthouse, quiet and elevated, with stunning views over the town, the harbor, and out to the sea, yet only a short walk from the center of Port-en-Bessin. The house had everything we needed, including a garden and a large terrace, with plenty of space for everyone. While not everything inside was brand new, it was all well maintained and perfectly usable.The house also proved to be a great base for exploring Normandy: Port-en-Bessin itself offers restaurants, small shops, and a large fish market; Bayeux and Omaha Beach are just around the corner; and destinations such as Cherbourg and Giverny make for excellent day trips. All in all, it was a perfect holiday week for us!

Lovely cottage

Lovely cottage on top of the hill. The village is situated between the D-Day landing beaches. We rented towels and bedding, which was great. The cottage was well equiped. It was lovely.

Das ideale Haus fĂŒr eine 4-köpfige Familie mit Teenagern

Herzlicher Empfang in einem maritimen Ambiente. Wir haben die Möglichkeit genutzt BettwĂ€sche und HandtĂŒcher zu mieten. Älteres Haus auf schön eingewachsenem GrundstĂŒck mit großer Terasse und rundum Sichtschutz. Großes Angebot an Restaurants und GeschĂ€ften, die gut zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Ruhige Lage mit toller Aussicht auf den Außenhafen .Wir waren 2 Wochen dort und wĂŒrden wieder hinfahren.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille, maison présentant toutes les commodités, conforme à l annonce. TrÚs bonne localisation sur les hauteurs de port en Bessin, vue sur la mer et sur le port. A 5min à pied du centre (marché, criée, restaurants, boulangerie, petits commerces). De bons molets pr remonter jusqu'à la maison mais rien de problématique ! Nous recommandons vivement.

Séjour agréable

La maison est trÚs bien située, en haut du port, nous avons profité de la vue, du vélo route nous emmenant à Omaha Beach sans oublier la plage sauvage de St Honorine des Pertes. Le marché du port, les restaurants et boutiques sont à proximité et appréciables. Balades à cheval du cÎté de Colleville-sur-Mer et l'accrobranche à Cussy sont de chouettes activités à partager en famille. Merci à Astrid pour l'accueil !

Genoten in Port en Bessin Huppain

De accommodatie ligt op een geweldige locatie. Het uitzicht is prachtig en je loopt in enkele minuten naar de haven en gezellige dorpskern. De locatie is erg geschikt om meerdere D day stranden te bezoeken, Mont saint Michel, pont du hoc, de Amerikaanse begraafplaats etc. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Ook dat het op een helling van maarliefst 18 procent lag vonden wij geen probleem, je hebt niet voor niets zo’n prachtig uitzicht. Het enige min puntje is de oprit, daar zit een nare betonnen rand op die de bodem van je auto goed kan beschadigen als je niet weet hoe je er precies op moet rijden als je voor de eerste keer parkeert. Ondanks dat..genoten van onze week Normandie.

Super séjour post-deconfinement

Sehr schöner Normandie-Urlaub

Sehr nette Wohnung, gut geeignet fĂŒr eine Familie mit 2 (auch Ă€lteren Kindern). Gut ausgestattet, sehr schöne Lage aber leider kein Strand in Gehentfernung, da die Wege ĂŒber die Klippen gesperrt sind. Ein zusĂ€tzlicher Topf in mittlerer GrĂ¶ĂŸe wĂ€re fĂŒr die KĂŒchenausstattung vorteilhaft.

La maison, trĂšs lumineuse Ă©tait idĂ©ale pour nous 4. la grande chambre sĂ©parable avec un rideau et le bureau de l'Ă©tage ont permis Ă  tous de trouver des moments d'intimitĂ©, quand nous n'Ă©tions pas en balade. Port en Bessin est trĂšs bien placĂ© et trĂšs agrĂ©able. L'activitĂ© portuaire ainsi que le fait de pouvoir acheter du poisson frais juste pĂȘchĂ© Ă©tait apprĂ©ciable! Le contact avec le propriĂ©taire et sa reprĂ©sentante sur place s'est trĂšs bien passĂ©. A recommander !

Des bonnes vacances 😊

Maison trés bien aménagée et spacieuse. La vue sur mer est vraiment agréable. Cadre trÚs sympathique. Port en bessin est vraiment agréable. On s y sent bien. Plein de choses à faire et à voir alentour. Seul mini bémol : certaines casseroles mériteraient un remplacement. Bref c était super !
