The Neighborhood:
You're at NW 25th & Upshur, on the quiet north edge of Nob Hill — two blocks from NW 23rd Avenue and a few blocks from Forest Park.
🍽️ Eat & drink: The Fireside (wood-fired plates and cocktails), Santa Fe Taqueria, and Salt & Straw's famous ice cream are all on NW 23rd within about a 5-minute walk, with dozens more restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops along 23rd and 21st.
🥾 Forest Park: walk straight up Upshur to the Lower Macleay Park trailhead (~10 minutes) — miles of forest trails from your front door, no car needed.
🌳 Wallace Park is 2 blocks away — playground, tennis courts, and room for the dog to stretch.
🛍️ NW 23rd is Portland's favorite shopping street: local boutiques, vintage shops, and the Alphabet District's preserved Victorian architecture.
⚽ Providence Park (Timbers and Thorns matches) is about a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive.
Distances are approximate.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — Nob Hill is one of Portland's most walkable neighborhoods; NW 23rd and NW 21st are lined with restaurants, boutiques, and cafes a few minutes away.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 runs along NW 23rd/Thurman (2 blocks) with frequent service to downtown (~10 min).
🚋 Streetcar — The Portland Streetcar's NW 23rd & Marshall stop (~15-minute walk) connects to the Pearl District and downtown.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share stations nearby; flat, bike-laned streets in every direction.
🚗 Driving — Street parking is first-come (read signs for time limits and meters). Rideshare typically arrives in under 5 minutes.
✈️ Airport — PDX is about 25 minutes by car, or take the MAX Red Line from Providence Park station straight to the airport.
Other Things to Note:
🚗 Parking
There is no private parking. Street parking is first-come and can be difficult around NW 23rd/Nob Hill, especially evenings and weekends.
🏠 Split-Level Duplex
The unit you'll be staying in is on the main floor — one set of stairs up to your entrance. Occasional noise may be heard from the unit above you.
