A few staff really stoodout during our stay and before the cartel trouble began, this review would have talked about many other staff that were indifferent, seemingly poorly trained, and really understaffed. It would have talked about broken ice cream machines and other poorly maintained equipment all over the resort. But since the cartel troubles, many individual staff have been selfless and worked very long shifts while maintaining a smile. These individual staff are sacrificing a lot to make a difficult situation much more relaxed and cushioning us from what their own families are suffering under.

Our room had no water on my birthday for more than 48 hours, the food was horrible I got food poisoning and was sick in bed for 2 days. They didn’t clean our clean our room for 3 days. It was very hard to get around the resort and noisy.

We have travelled a fair bit both staying in condos and all inclusives. I try to be fair if I’m going to write a review. We would not stay here again. Pros- Staff were pleasant and friendly. Pools were nice and very well kept. Gym was decent. Grounds were nice. Cons:. Food was terrible. The hours to get food and pool service were odd and pool service starts later than other places we have stayed at. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything good about the food. Even the one speciality restaurant was mediocre. It’s a basic stirfry that someone could make at home. I also found the rooms to be quite dirty. The cleaning of the room rooms was lacklustre to say the best. It was just a matter of making your bed and giving a quick wipe down of the bathroom. I also noticed that it was dirty in a lot of the common areas, including the bathrooms. The day we arrived we had two bath towels and nothing else. They were responsive to our request but when I got the hand towels and two face cloths, they were stained so I didn’t use them. When we were there, they lost water to some of the buildings. We were fortunate that we did not experience that, but I know people that had no water in their room for two days and we’re given a second room in another building for using the washroom and showering. We don’t mind having kids around but if you do this place seems popular primarily with young families.

The staff was very attentive but the condition of the resort needs attention. The offerings at the pantry are very slim. The taco truck is very good as is the japanese restaurant. The Italian restaurant and the buffet were disappointing. They were advertising different food themes each night but the food was the same each time regardless of the theme. The Mediterranean night and the Mexican night had exactly the same food at the buffet which was not great. Carlos quinones was excellent and was always there when we needed something. The housekeeping staff needs better oversight. The toilet seat in the bathroom didn’t fit the toilet so each time we used it we got pinched by it and at times it felt like it was falling off. The balcony was also in need of maintenance as the doors between each balcony were rotting away. And the lounge chairs broke and my companion fell because the leg of the chair fell off when he sat down. Despite letting the front desk know about our concerns that the room was not only dirty (toenail clippings on the floor and coffee stains ) despite no coffee in the room were not addressed for the first three days. I can’t recommend this place. They need to tend to these issues before they lose more customers. Many of the guests expressed similar sentiments when we asked what they thought of their experience.

The room, staff and amenities are super clean. They work very hard even in the jungle with the leaves in the pools. Some negatives for me -There are many pools but all are very small with few chairs to accommodate. - Most pools are shaded because of the trees - Biggest flaw is the food. 2 small Buffet and only 1 restaurant to book. Options are very limited in that regard. The food truck open during the middle of the day is nice because you get it fresh. But we went off site for many meals. - Shuttle to the beach is efficient but feels rushed on vacation. Need to book the shuttle down there and then line up to get a ride back. - Beach itself is very small and limited chairs with vendors coming around constantly. During a 7 day visit we only went twice because of the chore Overall it was a fine resort. It’s small and quite hilly. If it’s for a good deal I’d recommend. Otherwise, will probably try somewhere else!

Arrived and room was cleaned but still dirty. Bathroom door was so wedged it could not be opened or closed and was not addresssed when brought to houskeeping attention. While the workers were all nice amd tried their best i feel this resort is so very understaffed. Long wait times im restaurants to be seated while there are tons of open available tables. Waitresses are nowhere to be found during snack timings to be able to order from the counter or pool side.The buffets are frequently empty of all the popular iteams and not restocked by the time your done your meal. Reception is next to impossible to ever get ahold of. This part i understand is my fault but very frustrated that i had extreme stomach pain and deciding not to go into town to urgent care and paying the price i was shocked at the over 500 dollar bill i recieved for some stomach pills. No this really is a beautiful resort amd the pools are quite great pools but for the price i paid i am highly disappointed amd would not return or recomend this place to any friends or family

The amenities are great & thats the only reason Ive continued to come back over the years, but the food & drinks need improvement...great that a 2nd buffet was added, but it wasnt good either...i tried not to go to the dinner buffet at all, the 1 night i did go, was only because the taco truck had run out of chicken. I love the location of the hotel, away from the hustle of the city...i wish the food was enjoyable

Let me preface by saying the resort itself is beautiful. Visually, it’s the perfect blend of resort and jungle and i appreciated the many pools and lounge chairs available to all guests. Our stay started off incredible, with an exceptional room — though not super clean, there was a few remnants from the previous guests that likely just got overlooked, it was spacious and had everything you’d want. Unfortunately, mid way through our trip our entire tower (there are 6), as well as our neighboring tower lost access to running water. No showers, using the toilet or washing your hands and because the closest pool was directly connected to our waterline, it also did not offer washrooms that were accessible. Though, this is completely unpredictable and can just happen, the water remained an issue for the entire day and led into the next day. We were offered another room in a building that had running water, however due to guests from both buildings needing to relocate on top of new guests checking in, there weren’t many rooms to choose from and unfortunately we severely were downgraded from the deluxe room we paid for with no compensation, offerings, or discounts to anything the resort offered additionally whatsoever. Thankfully, you do spend a majority of your time out by the pool — but when travelling far, and paying more for the room (since it’s an option), you’d expect a bit more when an issue arises as serious as no access to basic necessities. Which changed the experience.
