Declining Hotel

The restaurant is why people stay here; the rooms and the rest are in poor shape and in steady decline for the past three years. The bathroom didn't work in my room. Pretty disgusting. It should do better as many are visitors to Mayo. Needs to improve or close.

Trip was to get medical treatment at Mayo Clinic. Hotel is very conveniently located and has good shuttle service. The extended stay room left a lot to be desired (eg, no heat thermostat, microwave didn’t work, appliances were old).

This was our second stay over the past year and we will be back in six months. The hotel is always clean, the linens are clean, but unscented detergent used… This is a real plus if you have allergies like I do! Friendly and responsive staff. Good breakfast. The shuttle service between the hotel and Mayo (or grocery store, etc.) is excellent. They have two buses that are running constantly with friendly and helpful drivers. It’s an older building but well maintained and after having tried other places, we will always come back here.

We chose this hotel for its advertised amenities, including a restaurant, hot tub, and arcade, hoping to enjoy a relaxing night before my husband’s surgery. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. The front desk staff member was inattentive and unfriendly, which set a poor tone upon arrival. Despite it being a Wednesday night, the restaurant was fully booked, and we weren’t even able to get a seat at the bar. Additionally, the hot tub was unusable due to a broken cover, and both the pool and arcade were inaccessible. The one highlight of our stay was the bed—it was exceptionally comfortable.

The bathroom is very small and needs updating. It was raining and there was a leak by the window. The carpet got wet.There is separate heating and air conditioning. Needs to be updated. When we got in the room, the heat was set to 78 and the air conditioner on at 68. This makes no sense. When the heat was on it was noisy. It sounded like a whistling wind.
