This is a pleasant place to stay if you’re being seen at the Mayo Clinic. It’s a 5 minute walk to the subway level, via the skyway. There are numerous restaurants nearby. The restaurant in the hotel, Crave, is convenient and very good. Disappointed that the hotel did not provide bottled water in the room and no microwave .

I left an item in my hotel room. Here were the 3 failed attempts I made to retrieve it: 1. I called the front desk the next day. They asked me to leave a voicemail for housekeeping with the details. No return call. 2. A few days later, I called the front desk again and explained the situation. Ashley committed to follow up. No return call. 3. A few days later, I called the front desk and asked to speak to the General Manager. He was not available and I left my name/number. No return call. In addition, the parking lot is undergoing repair and there is only one handicapped parking space available on the level that connects to the lobby. Other spots could have easily been temporarily blocked off. This is critical for a hotel in the middle of a major medical destination. Finally, upon arrival and departure, the front desk people acted as if we were bothering them while they were busy scrolling their phones.

Poorly trained, defensive reception staff. I’ve stayed several times at the Indigo, mostly because it’s super convenient, clean, updated, and an IHG property. The only downside I’ve ever experienced was the slightly less than enthused reception staff, which I usually shrug off. Meh. I’m ever only there briefly. This particular April stay though, was THE trigger for me. The young lady at the desk pointedly refused to provide a receipt as I booked through Expedia. She was condescending about it as I patiently explained that since I was paying at the hotel and not through Expedia, it is policy for the hotel to be able to provide a receipt. She had an attitude and doubled down on her stance without bothering to confirm if she was mistaken (ofc turns out she was and the property later issued a receipt via email after I had to take the time and inconvenience to chase up upon returning home). I wish I could have recorded the interaction, it was so shocking as a customer and IHG member. Plus, they ran my bill (which they would not let me see) through TWO credit cards, another item to chase up on. I see that the Indigo has had several complaints about the reception staff. Please, you are in the hospitality biz, train your peeps to be more amenable to resolving a problem instead of being so hard nosed and defensive? Coming back next week for another Rochester visit, but have Indigo Rochester PTSD.

My room was not serviced at all on the 2nd day of my stay and given that we were there for medical treatment at Mayo it was uncomfortable to return to a disorganized, "dirty" room with no clean towels after literally 16 hours of medical treatment. It was also too late to receive housekeeping and all the front desk was able to do was provide us towels and coffee pods/cups
