With two master suites, this home is ideal for couples who love mountain views! Located in the rugged hills just 3 miles from downtown Salida, and 2 miles from extensive hiking and mountain biking trails, this home offers the perfect combination of rural quiet and small town amenities. Several of the home's stylish features were constructed from barn wood salvaged from an old Missouri farm, as well as other recycled materials, thanks to the owners' earth-conscious habits (and impeccable taste!)

This is a quiet, rural neighborhood, so please respect our neighbors' need for quiet. Quiet hours are between 9PM and 7AM. Note that voices travel very well in this hillside location, so please keep outdoor conversations on the low-key end of the spectrum.
Also, please do not drive over 20MPH in the entire Pinion Hills neighborhood.

Please respect the quiet nature of our rural neighborhood. Houses are nestled into the hillside so that you hardly notice you have neighbors...which makes it all the more important to keep outdoor noise-levels to a very considerate level. Quiet hours are between 9PM and 7AM and are enforced as such. This is not a party home, so if you're hoping to have a party, please do that in the town and retire here to this quiet, beautiful home to rest and relax. Absolutely no parties will be tolerated on site.
The driveway camera monitors activity in the driveway ONLY. If we see more cars than are reasonable for the number of overnight guests registered to stay in the home during your stay, we will likely stop by to meet folks and will have to ask extras to leave. Thanks in advance for respecting our household maximum and making your reservation for the accurate number of guests who will be staying with you.
Want to stay in and cook? You’ll enjoy the well-equipped kitchen or grilling out on the patio. Or order curbside pick-up or delivery from one of Salida's many nearby restaurants.
Our cleaning standards have always been very high (as you can tell by our reviews), but with the advent of the COVID 19 threat, we've doubled-down our already high disinfecting standards to ensure the safety of our employees, guests, and our entire community.

Smoking anything indoors is strictly forbidden. If you smoke anything, please do it outside only, and practice "leave no trace" smoking. Any evidence of smoking in the house OR GARAGE will result in a $200 fine. Thanks for not smoking!

Wonderful Home

This is a lovely modern house with an absolutely stunning view of the Arkansas River Valley. Sitting outside by the fire, or in the hot tub, or just soaking in the views is a real treat. The house is well appointed, and accommodated 4 of us perfectly. Highly recommend!

Excellent view and space

We enjoyed a wonderful week for Thanksgiving in this home and could not have found a better place to enjoy the holiday. The house was clean, well outfitted, and the space was ideal for a get away to enjoy friends and the mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space and the indoor space this spot provided. It was a quick trip into town to resupply as needed, and easy access to a variety of activities in the mountains. For the most part though, we just enjoyed the house with games, hot tubs, fires, and more. Highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a getaway near Salida!

Simply Fabulous!

We could not be more delighted about our stay at Barnwood Chateau. It was perfect for our family of four. Everyone had their own space. The home is immaculate and comfortable. It had scathing we needed. We loved the view of the mountains from our bedrooms, kitchen and patio. We loved everything! We hope to return someday.

Barnwood Chateau with 2 Master Suites + Hot Tub

This home is literally amazing. It is peaceful and beautiful with stunning mountain views. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable with spacious bathrooms. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking utensils and dishes. The hot tub is on the front patio and slightly recessed into the patio floor giving it a sense of privacy with stunning mountain views and starry night time skies. This house is in a very quiet neighborhood in a pinyon forest on a hillside providing a perfect retreat. We would readily return to this home for a stay in the area. It is extremely convenient to both the towns of Salida and Buena Vista and their many attractions.

Million Dollar View

The Barnwood Chateau exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, clean, and had every amenity that we needed. There was plenty of room for family meals, games, and watching football bowl games. The views from the balconies, every window, and patio were breathtaking. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit - so relaxing after a day of hiking or snow tubing . Jessica was friendly, responsive and great to work with. The Barnwood Chateau was perfectly located close to town but far enough away to feel quiet and secluded. We loved Salida and the Barnwood Chateau!

I needed a last minute booking that could meet my non toxic needs. Jessica is a Superhost with many properties and is knowledgeable about everything in her portfolio. Once I mentioned what I needed, Jessica made the recommendation and prepared the space for my arrival. The views were spectacular, the hot tub was lovely and it was the perfect amount of space with 2 master bedrooms upstairs and a third bedroom/ bathroom on the first floor. Beautifully designed. Would recommend this spot.
