This hotel is not reliable or honest. I wrote them an email days before my arrival informing them that we will be arriving at 2am. I arrived at 2am with my family and they said they sold the room to someone else. Funny thing is I had already paid in full and they did not cancel/refund the booking with Expedia; thus, being paid twice for the same room. Out of desperation, I had to sleep in a dorm room with my two kids and 6 strangers since it was 2am and there were no other options. They gave very partial refund that I had not option but to accept in that moment. When I tried to address this with Expedia to get a more complete refund, the property refused. Overall bad experience and when they had the chance to do the right thing for a customer they refused. Expedia has been no help in this situation as they let the hotel decide whether to refund or not. Of course a dishonest hotel would not offer an honest refund and Expedia does not support the customer.

Nice property but cant leave a nice review since my bedroom wall was shared with a nightclub next-door and its ridiculously loud Thursday through Sunday nights. Don't plan on sleeping until the music shuts off around 2am.

Great place but beware on booking here...

Well, I will start with that this quaint place is exactly what we needed, AC, bed, shower as we stayed in a private room. I loved the hammocks and the cute small pool. It is located on a perfect spot in El Tunco and it is extremely safe. On another note, when we got there a particular staff member was rude and said I didn’t have a reservation and honestly it left me uncomfortable and displeased. In addition, I did notice a slight preference towards the surfer/European crowd that predominantly stay in this establishment. Yes technically I myself was a tourist but I do look Salvadoran and speak Spanish fluently. Now I don’t want to go into sociological Salvadoran issues but they did apologize for not finding my reservation for like 15 min and somehow found an email with my reservation..... so beware on booking within this site for this establishment.

Fun Place to Stay in El Tunco

Cool laidback Hostal style Hotel. Lots of travelers. I stayed in a private room. It was pretty basic but clean and a close to beach. Free breakfast the omelette was awesome I ate it every morning. Pool is fun and a good place to meet other people. El Tunco is safe and so is the hotel.
