In the quiet west end of the island is idyllic Mangrove Bay, Somerset. At the end of a gated long private beach lined drive is a majestic waterfront Bermudian estate called Blue Flag. Circa 1750.
Blue Flag is set on 1.5 Acres of private terraced tropical gardens and boasts multiple private beaches and docks.
The exterior of the house has multiple shaded and unshaded porches on the upper and lower level for outdoor dining and lounging.
On the lower level is a large entry foyer which leads to a formal dining room with butlers pantry. The full kitchen has another informal dining area that can host a large family. Additionally the lower level has two distinct bedroom wings that have their own full bathrooms. The house is designed in such a way that none of the bedrooms share a door with any of the 'public' spaces of the house. Each bedroom has windows on three sides making them light and airy. Each bedroom feels like a secluded primary suite.
On the upper level is a formal bar, the cedar beamed great room with fireplace and a secluded library/TV room. Like the lower level the upper level has two distinct private bedroom wings.
Blueflag is furnished with antiques and classic art exuding the aura of a most discerning traditional Bermudian estate. Each room has AC and the property is stocked with every amenity one may need for a waterfront vacation.
Blue Flag is a short walk to two wonderful resort restaurants at Cambridge Beaches Resort. Walk a little further to find the super market, pharmacy and several restaurants and take out options. Also located in the neighborhood is H20 water sports where one can rent a boat or a variety of other water toys. In Somerset Village you will find 2 banks, a gym, liquor store, various retail shops, the bus stop and Post Office (where tickets for the bus and ferry are available). At the end of the village is Watford Bridge Ferry stop which conveniently connects to Hamilton.
Blue Flag is also a perfect venue for a destination celebration or wedding with ample locations to hold a waterside ceremony and reception on one private property.
