Travelled with family and small children

Way too expensive for what it offers—basically nothing. I always try to be as honest as possible in my reviews, and this one is no exception. We arrived at the hotel at night and I couldn’t believe what I saw. In the photos, it looked amazing, but in reality, it felt like we were walking into a roadside trucker motel. Based on the nightly rate, I assumed it was a 3-star hotel.
We checked in and were directed to our room—which was located on the side street next to the hotel. That’s right, on the street! For nearly $400 a night, I was expecting something much more upscale, and instead we were placed in a room with zero security, completely exposed. I went back to the front desk and said we couldn’t stay there. The supervisor told us they couldn’t offer a full refund due to the late check-in time, and since it was already close to 11 PM, we decided it was safer to stay the night and leave first thing in the morning.
At around 7 AM, construction noise started blaring—there’s a massive hotel being built right next door. We waited until 9:30 AM to speak with reception, return the keys, and leave. I did get almost a full refund, and I’m grateful for that, but the hotel and the location were a huge disappointment.
It was me, my wife, and our 5-year-old daughter—and from there, we decided to head to Santa Monica. That was the best decision we made.
