Picture this: you turn off the paved road onto a private gravel pad, the North Georgia forest closing in around you. Inside, the fireplace is waiting. Tonight you'll soak in a hot tub on a screened deck — no bugs, just string lights, the forest, and your favorite show on the outdoor TV. Tomorrow, Helen and Unicoi State Park are minutes away. This is Deer Ridge: a hideaway cabin where rustic calm meets 400 Mbps fiber and real comfort.
ABOUT THIS SPACE
Deer Ridge is a one-bedroom cabin built for two to four people who want the classic mountain feel without giving up a single modern comfort. The heart of the home is an open great room with soaring vaulted ceilings, where the full kitchen, dining table, and living area flow together under natural light. Cook a real meal on the full-size stove and oven, brew a cup from the Keurig, and gather around the dining table or sink into the living room by the gas fireplace (available Labor Day through Memorial Day) with one of three Smart TVs.
When it's time to wind down, the bedroom centers on a plush king memory-foam mattress dressed in fresh linens, with warm cabin lighting and peaceful wooded views. A sleeper sofa adds room for up to four guests total. The bright, spotless full bath comes stocked with fresh towels, a shower/tub combo, and all the essentials.
The kitchen is genuinely cook-ready, not a token kitchenette: full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster, and a full set of dishes, cookware, and utensils — everything you need to make breakfast before a hike or a slow Sunday dinner after a day on the river. The dining table seats the whole group, and the open sightline means the cook is never cut off from the conversation.
The real showpiece is outside. Your private screened-in deck pairs a hot tub with a swivel-mounted Smart TV, so you can soak and watch at the same time — bug-free, rain or shine, under glowing string lights and the forest canopy. A BBQ grill and outdoor seating turn the deck into an open-air living room for long mountain evenings. Whisper-quiet mini-split climate control keeps the whole cabin perfect year-round, and ultra-fast 400 Mbps fiber Wi-Fi means you can stream in 4K, video call, or work a full day without a single buffer. Towels, linens, hair dryer, shampoo, and the everyday essentials are all provided, so you can pack light and arrive ready to relax.
LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY
Deer Ridge sits in a quiet, wooded community in Sautee Nacoochee, in the heart of the North Georgia mountains — secluded, but never far from the action. Unicoi State Park, with its lake, beach, and waterfall trails, is just a 4-minute drive. Innsbruck Resort & Golf Club is about 10 minutes away, and the Alpine village of Helen — with its shops, festivals, and famous tubing on the Chattahoochee — is roughly 12 to 13 minutes out (Helen Festhalle ~12 min; Helen Tubing & Water Park ~13 min). Anna Ruby Falls, wineries along the Georgia Wine Highway, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are all within easy reach. Spring and summer bring tubing and waterfalls; fall delivers some of the best leaf-peeping in the Southeast; winter pairs perfectly with the hot tub and the fireplace. For meals out, Campfire Gather Round, Bigg Daddy's Restaurant & Tavern, and The Troll Tavern are 10 to 12 minutes away, and Helen's German bakeries, biergartens, and candy shops make for an easy afternoon. Whether you came to do everything or nothing at all, the cabin keeps you close to it and far from the crowds.
WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR
Couples celebrating an anniversary or stealing a quiet weekend will love the hot-tub-and-fireplace evenings. Remote workers and digital nomads get 400 Mbps fiber and three Smart TVs for a true work-from-the-mountains stretch. Small families and friend pairs (up to four) will appreciate the open layout and easy access to Helen's attractions. And anyone craving a screens-off reset — fresh air, forest quiet, and a hot soak under the stars — will feel right at home.
GUEST ACCESS
You'll have the entire cabin and the private screened deck to yourself — no shared spaces, no on-site hosts. Check-in is a smooth, self-arrival process after 4:00 PM, and the road in is paved all the way to your private gravel parking pad. Detailed arrival instructions and the door code are sent before your stay so you can settle in the moment you arrive.
PARKING
Free, private, on-site parking sits on a level gravel pad right at the cabin — room for up to two vehicles. The drive in is paved and mostly level, easy for any car, with no steep mountain switchbacks to navigate. No permits or off-site lots; just pull up and unload.
HOUSE RULES
We keep Deer Ridge spotless and peaceful, so a few simple things: check-in after 4:00 PM, check-out by 10:00 AM, and a maximum of 4 guests. This is a pet-free, smoke-free, event-free cabin (it keeps things clean and allergen-friendly for every guest). Quiet hours run 10 PM to 8 AM out of respect for the neighbors, and renters must be 21 or older. One mountain note: please don't leave food or trash outside — deer, turkeys, and the occasional bear share these woods. Treat the cabin like your own and you're always welcome back.
