Nearly ruined our vacation. We had to leave and book another rental.

I am currently in talks with Southern Belle and we hope that they respond positively. We are no longer at the property due to a variety of reasons:•The overhead light in the kitchen did not turn on, so we relied on lamps as a light source.•The bathroom was uncomfortable. There were stains in the tub. The toilet brush was under the sink without a holder, so we had nowhere to store our possessions. The shower head was so dirty that I resorted to cleaning it. However, none of us was brave enough to take a shower.•The pipe connected to the shower head was detached from the wall.•There were water stains and cracked paint in the kitchen and dining room ceilings.•The beds were so soft that sleeping was uncomfortable.•The fridge light did not turn on. •Spiders and bugs in the bedroom next to the carport.•We found out that the front door lock was malfunctioning as we tried to leave the property. Lawncare service was non existent. Finding the footpaths leading to the property was impossible. We arrived at night and the pathway was impossible to locate.UpdateSouthern Belle has refused our refund request stating they were not given the opportunity to remedy the situation. Apparently two text messages had been sent to me. I am yet to receive those messages. We couldn’t quite understand their reasoning since we were on the phone with one of their employees as we couldn’t leave due to the door lock not closing. This was a nightmare! VRBO- Kindly refund our money.
Front door wouldn’t close. Called Tonya. Her explanation was that the door must have swelled due to the humidity. Maintenance was sent out. We had left before maintenance arrived.
This is the path we chose in the end to navigate as the other from the carport was inaccessible(overgrown) Again, the lawn was overgrown and the path did not extend to the mailbox/street.
Overgrown path that we could not navigate when we arrived. Hardly visible. Apparently, lawn care had been called out and photos taken to confirm that the lawn had been mowed and the pathway cleared. This was not our experience.

Thunderbolt Cottage

This is our 2nd time at this location. Very clean, located in a nice neighborhood, centrally located between downtown and the beach. You couldn't ask for a better place to spend a couple of weeks in, in the Savannah area. We will be back for sure. The only improvement would be is to have a king size bed in the front bedroom. Queens are OK, but a little small for us.

Thunderbolt Cottage

We have been coming to Savannah for over 20 years. The location is centrally located and very clean. The inclosed yard was great. We felt right at home the moment we walked in the door. Thank you for offering such a nice place.

Great property. Very clean and organized. Lots of space to relax. Convenient location. Only negative was that the grass was quite long and in need of mowing. When the mowers did come they mowed only the front yard so back yard was not used. Will come back again.

Sisters 4th Annual Vacation

The house was clean and comfortable, however I wasn't impressed with a bi-weekly grass cutting. The grass wasn'tcut until the 3rd day before our vacation was over. We rented the property for 2 weeks and by the time the lawn crew got there the grass was as tall as a wheat field. I did send a message to the staff and I was told they had quite a bit of rain the week prior to our 2 week stay. The grass could have still been cut the 1st week we were there, as the ground was dry. The red ants were very bothersome while trying to enjoy the sun and fresh air at the outside patio table. I had to purchase some ant spray and spray the area so we can enjoy the outside makeshift patio, in other words the patio was just a green piece of fake grass in the backyard sitting on a bunch of ant mounds. I did reach out about the ants and I was told an exterminator would be out, however we never seen him and the ants were still there after he supposedly sprayed. I sprayed my spray and it kept the ants at bay for a couple days until I sprayed again. I ended up buying 2 cans of spray to use for our entire stay. I did ask where the outdoor table umbrella was located so I could put it up, as the pictures posted online showed an open umbrella at the patio table, I was told there was no umbrella. Great location

Great location near Grayson Stadium/The Savannah Bananas. Quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants and a short drive to Savannah or the beach. The house was as expected and the property manager was quick to respond to texts.

It was a great house in a great location. Very close to Tybee Island and Downtown Savannah. Very clean and a great neighborhood. I will stay there again when visiting .

You get what you pay for

This was an impromptu mini vacation for my family. My first issue was with the “pool”. It was advertised to be off site. What I didn’t know until I got check in instructions was that it is only open from 10am-5pm. That was really disappointing. We got to the property and the grass was over our ankles. You couldn’t see the stepping stones to the front door. I did let management know and someone was supposed to cut it but that never happened. My other issue was with the bugs in the house. We did t notice them at first but in the evening we would see small roaches scattering on the counter in the bathroom and kitchen. The day we left and started the dishwasher a big one came out from it. I will not stay again.

Beautiful Home

We felt very much at home at the Thunderbolt cottage. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well supplied and the spaces were nicely decorated and provided a lot of opportunity for time together or separate as the case may be. The provision of a dining room plus a countertop seating area was very nice. Parking was in a covered carport. Access through the front door was easy with an installed combination lock. The half bath was a blessing with 4 of us women in the house. The furniture in the bedrooms appeared to be brand new. The kitchen had the added benefit of a blender and hand mixer. There was even a very small cooler for toting lunch for one or two people. The location is about 5 minutes from a Kroger grocery store and an easy drive to downtown Savannah.
