Welcome to wonderful days at Trolltunet, Haglebu
Be our first guests an help us get some feedback. The cabin is only 4 years old and maintains a consistently high standard and is situated on a beautiful and secluded mountain plot at 890 meters above sea level, at the end of a dead-end road with vast natural areas right outside the door. There are stunning views, and the mountain plateau is just a short hike away. The sun shines from early morning until evening.
Haglebu is a charming mountain area in Sigdal municipality, only 2 hours from Drammen and 2 hours and 30 minutes from Oslo.
In winter, there are miles of groomed cross-country ski trails starting right outside the cabin door, in addition to an excellent alpine down hill area. We highly recommend a snowshoe hike in the surrounding area, as the cabin includes snowshoes for 4 adults and 2 children. Ice fishing for Arctic char in Haglebuvannet is a popular winter activity.
Summer offers hiking trails starting from the property boundary, with options for hikes of varying lengths and elevation. You can hike up to the mountain plateau, which features several marked trails and destinations, around Haglebuvannet with fire pits and canoe/boat rentals, or climb various mountain peaks or head toward Sloko. One of the most popular hikes is the Sherpa Staircase (1,100 steps) up to Haglebunatten at 1,278 meters above sea level. Haglebuvannet has a gently sloping sandy beach around much of its shoreline. For fishing enthusiasts, there are many great lakes with trout and Arctic char of good size.
If you’d like a break from kitchen duties, a short walk or ski trip will take you to Fjellstua or Turistheimen, both offering excellent food and drinks within walking distance.
The cabin is 140 m² and has 10 beds spread across 4 bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms—one of which is directly connected to the master bedroom. There is a sauna in the cabin, as well as a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer.
The living room/kitchen is a large open-plan space with a fireplace and a dining table for 10–12 people.
Bedroom 1 (Master) – Double bed 180 cm
Bedroom 2 – Double bed 160 cm
Bedroom 3 – Family bunk bed 160/90 cm
Bedroom 4 – Family bunk bed 150/90 cm + crib
Outside, there is a large Jacuzzi, a shelter with a fire pit, an Italian wood-fired pizza oven, and a large outdoor table with benches and a built-in gas fireplace.
The cabin is rented out inclusive of electricity, birch firewood, bed linen, and towels.
For families with children, the cabin includes high chairs, a crib with mattress and bedding, changing mat, baby bathtub for use in the shower, stool and toilet ring, safety gate for the fireplace, and many board games.
If you’re bringing a dog, there is a large dog bed and a dog crate in the cabin.
Additionally, there is high-speed fiber internet for free use, a TV with Telia subscription (including live TV), and a Sonos sound system in the living room. The cabin also has a heat pump and an EV charger.
We believe Trolltunet offers that “little extra”—both in terms of location, activities, cozy atmosphere, and cabin comfort.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the owner, who will give a quick introduction to the cabin and answer any questions.
The cabin is only rented out to responsible and orderly adults.
