Good for a simple stay

Hotel in good location with great customer service. Seems to be used by many truckers and construction workers so parking lot was tight and loud. Very convenient location. Only hotel to offer us adjoining rooms so far this trip.

On arrival and check-in, I informed the concierge I had a small dog with me (as it's a pet-friendly hotel). The concierge told me I could then not stay in the King 'Luxury' Suite that I booked and paid for - but would be moved to a Queen room instead. She said their King Suites didn't allow dogs, and were usually kept for 'corporate guests'. I said there was nothing about that on the booking website. I was told that the hotel has 'no control' over what third-party sites (like Expedia) put on their website. I said it's a common way that people book hotels, and was told "well, not everyone". I said I'd like the change in price from the King suite to the Queen room refunded to me. I was again told that couldn't happen as I'd prepaid. I was also told she "would be fired" if she allowed me to stay in the King suite I'd booked and paid for. Not a nice or friendly experience.

The girl who checked us in was very nice and helpful. Front desk staff otherwise were fine. Housekeeping staff was unpleasant. The hotel was older, rather dingy. The pool was very nice, however. Overall it was a fine place to stay, just could use a little love and updating.
