From the moment we entered the hotel, we were hit with strong, offensive odors of marijuana and mildew, making it immediately clear that this property was severely neglected. Room 308 only deepened that disappointment. The television did not work, and the room itself was in unacceptable condition. The carpet, walls, and overall appearance were worn, dirty, and uninviting. A replacement remote was provided, yet it was also nonfunctional. When a front desk clerk attempted to assist, we were told the television could not be fixed due to a broken antenna port. We were then offered another room on the same floor or the floor above. I specifically stated that I did not want an end room or one worse than the one we were already in. Despite this, the only options presented were an end-of-hall room or one directly above, which we reluctantly accepted. Unfortunately, the second room was in even worse condition than the first, confirming a troubling pattern of neglect throughout the property. The elevator was visibly run-down, the hallways reeked of marijuana, and the carpets throughout the hotel were old, uneven, and heavily worn. The fitness room was completely unusable, as neither the treadmill nor the elliptical machine worked. The parking lot and surrounding area felt unsafe and unsettling. It is unacceptable that La Quinta Inn St. Louis Hazelwood – Airport North requires an incidental deposit when the rooms appear to have already suffered extensive damage and neglect. FRUSTRATED!!

Had to switch rooms because heater was broken room was shabby at best. They were using a cup to hold the tv up. Property requested deposit in cash with no cash discount. The deposit still hadn't been refunded from our stay 4 days prior on my card because they run it as a charge and not a hold $150 for room I paid $38 for.
