The hotel was right next to the police station, and we felt very safe around the hotel. The room was clean and they had decent breakfasts. The people at the front office were nice, and some of them spoke both Japanese and English. We will book here again.

The service and staff are great! The location is quite convenient. The breakfast is quite diversified and delicious. The only downside is a strange noise in one night of my four night stay. However, the staff was so great to quickly switch a quiet room for us.

Leisure stay for a couple in central Taipei.

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at Sonnien. Well located near the MRT and the beautiful Da-an park. Good room with space to open suitcases. Bathroom had good shelf space but I found the toilet roll holder in a very difficult place to reach, too low down. Restaurant only for breakfast. This choice available was primarily to Asian tastes. For western tastes, the cereal was limited to muesli and cornflakes. Scrambled egg available daily but sausages and other items only on certain days. Bread, rolls and croissants also variable. Staff provided good service. Pretty good value for money. We are happy to recommend Sonnien.
