Villa Zafiro: Luxurious private villa & pool - steps from gorgeous beaches!

You won't find a better layout for extended families, multiple families or multiple adults traveling together! No need for constant juggling people wanting to do different things and go different places at the same time. You don't need a car to enjoy the neighborhood, beaches, wonderful restaurants and even grab what you need at the local grocery market. Everyone can walk to what they want to do including all the nightlife Tamarindo has to offer! Plus, lots of individual privacy of large private bedrooms balanced by welcoming social spaces for meals, games and connecting.

Steps from the beach and adjacent to a national park! This beautiful large, private villa, pool and gardens, Casa Brisas del Estero (Villa Zafiro), is perfectly located in Langosta, the laid back beach village between the bustling beach town of Tamarindo to the north and the unspoiled sanctuary of Playa Langosta and Las Baulas National Park to the south.

The Langosta neighborhood is a hidden gem! Quiet, laid back and lush, you'll hear and see the howler monkeys cruising through the neighborhood canopy. This villa is a four minute walk to a spectacular beach, beautiful sunsets, tidepools to explore and a few of the most delicious restaurants, tucked into the neighborhood. A short walk north puts you in Tamarindo with tons of restaurants, surfing, shopping, boating, fishing, live music and more. A short walk to the south is Playa Langosta . . . a pristine beach bordered by a national park with multiple surf breaks, jungle trails and an estuary to explore.

Our villa is a very private, 4 bedroom (4 comfy queen beds plus a sleeper couch if needed), 3 bath modern villa with two large outdoor patios, a large pool, and private lush gardens. But the way it is laid out is different and so fantastic for vacationing with family or friends.

(Note: The main house and the upstairs apartment have no interior connection/access. Access to the apartment, 2 bed, 1 bath, kitchenette, laundry, extra living room, is via the outside side-steps).

In the main house there are two master suites with comfy queen beds, glass sliders out to patios and their own bathrooms with walk in showers. These are at one end of the house, away from the living areas which makes them very quiet and private. The upstairs master suite has its own outdoor screened patio overlooking the pool, gardens and jungle beyond. Don't be surprised to view monkeys dotting the treetops from your bed. The main floor master suite opens directly onto the patio and pool allowing you to sneak out for that late night swim under the stars in the warm pool before you go to sleep.

The large, open kitchen, dining room, and living room are perfect for cooking and eating together as well as playing games, catching up over cocktails, planning the days adventures or watching movies. These rooms open via a wall of glass sliders onto a beautiful patio and deck overlooking the pool and tropical gardens and the jungle beyond.

The modern kitchen has everything you could want to make a home cooked meal with family and friends OR hire a private chef to do it for you. This includes quartz countertops and all new appliances: refrigerator with filter and ice maker, stove/oven, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, Breville espresso machine, dishwasher, dishes, instapot, and more. There is also an outdoor grill if you want to prepare your catch of the day!

The upstairs/apartment portion of the villa has two more large bedrooms, also with queen beds with super comfy mattresses, a shared bathroom with a walk in shower, and a large open great room with floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the pool and jungle beyond. This great room contains a small kitchen and eating bar, and living area with an additional queen-sized sofa bed, if needed. This little modern kitchen is also fully functional and includes: a refrigerator, oven, microwave, coffee maker, etc. It perfect for early morning coffees or smoothies or late night snacks. This great room opens onto a large outdoor patio perfect for sipping your morning coffee or getting in some yoga with a view.

There are also laundry facilities so you can pack light!

The sections of the villas (main house and apartment) live like one big villa, with amazing indoor and outdoor social spaces but offer additional privacy and autonomy of separate units, when desired. It is perfect when you are traveling with friends and families, allowing for downtime when needed! It's the perfect setup for both introverts and extraverts alike!

The villa has AC in every room to ensure year-round comfort.

Access to the property and the house is via keypad. No worry about coordinating or carrying keys! Everyone can come and go as they please with just a code.

For those with mobility challenges, the main living area and one master suite are easily accessible/no steps within the house and one step up from outside into the front or side door. The outdoor patio has two shallow steps down to the pool deck

The villa and grounds are private and for your exclusive use. No need to share with anyone else :)

As instructors at a US university , this is our happy place when we are on break. During the winter, we typically offer this villa to others to enjoy. So this is not just a typical rental. We stock it with books, games, puzzles, and comforts for adults and kids to enjoy. Lounge in the hammocks. Float in the warm pool under the stars in the magical gardens. Rediscover those analog activities and make memories. It has tremendous appeal for friends and family of all ages. Or if you absolutely must do some work or don't want to miss the big game, we have super fast wifi, desks in each bedroom and cable/smart tvs.

A note about reviews: We only have a couple of reviews on VRBO at this point (there are more on Air) because this is the first time we are sharing our villa! We are "all 5-Star, Super Hosts" back in the States with our other home which we share when we travel. So, no need to worry. The place is super clean and comfortable. Our local manager Claudia lives in the neighborhood and can help you with any questions you have and can help you book adventures, give advice on things to do or even help you get a chef, massages, groceries... she's there to help make your stay amazing.

Note: sometimes water is rationed in Tamarindo and Langosta. This is not a problem for Casa Brisas del Estero/Villa Zafiro because of a built-in 4000 gallon water tank on the grounds.

While you may see water trucks delivering water to other rentals in Langosta/Tamarindo, we have never had an issue.

House rules

Check-in: 4pm. Let us know when your flight is arriving . . . we will try to accommodate early arrivals.

Checkout: 10:00am. Let us know if you need a late check-out . . . we are flexible :)

Quiet Time after 10pm: This is a sleepy/quiet neighborhood . . . please keep the noise down after 10pm.

Smoking/vaping: No smoking or vaping in the house. Please step outside (deck, patio, screened porch) to smoke or vape.

Security Cameras: The front gated entry, side gated entry, and back fence gate area of the house are being monitored by security cameras. Footage will be viewed only in cases where we suspect the rental agreement has been violated such as bringing in animals or having large parties.

Parties: Dinner parties are fine (e.g. renters plus 6 guests). This is not a party house. If you want to party, that can totally be accommodated in Tamarindo and you can just walk home after to a clean and peaceful villa!

**No Pets: As noted on the rental platform, no pets of any kind (including service animals and emotional support animals) are allowed in this house. Common areas in the house will be used by our family or other guests with severe pet allergies after your departure, so it is not safe to accommodate these animals at this house. "A Host may qualify for an exemption in certain circumstances — for instance, if the service animal directly threatens their health or safety."

Parking: There is secure parking for one vehicle on the grounds via the car gate. If you rent a golf cart for zipping around, we have an area where you can plug in and recharge in the gated driveway. There is parking for an additional vehicle just outside of the property wall.

This is our fourth trip to the area, and Adam’s place is by far the best. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and cozy gathering places like the living room and back patio. Looks like the whole place has just been remodeled, including the kitchen! Our teenagers loved the pool and having their own private rooms upstairs. There were great places to eat within walking distance, so we didn’t need a car. The kids loved walking on Langosta Beach and swimming/snorkeling/surfing. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot for a family getaway. We will definitely be back!
