When we arrived, we were told that breakfast was included and were given instructions accordingly. The next morning, we called the office to confirm the details, only to be told that breakfast was not included and that the receptionist had made a mistake—even though she had checked our paperwork. We had to go out and buy breakfast from the supermarket. The man we spoke to on the phone was quite rude and dismissive. On top of that, I emailed management about another issue—our room was supposed to have a spa, but it didn’t. I have yet to receive any response at all. Overall, very disappointed with communication. Good points was it had upstairs and the girls loved that. And garden view.

PROS: The room had everything we needed, not a 5 or 4 star motel as in appliances weren’t brand new but definitely done our family for the night. The beds were comfy. CONS: It was clean but the smell was grotty. I’m a smoker and I can say that the smell was a mixture of musty dust and cigarette. It needs a good cleanse on carpets and walls. Either the guests or the cleaners smoking while they clean. But a good air out and freshener done us for the night

Was disappointed the spa was not in the room as we had expected from booking and it was the only reason we booked the room. There was not a lot of info on it and what we did find was that we needed a key and towels from reception but we did not arrive before reception closed at night. If I had known this prior to booking I would have picked a different room/hotel. We did however really enjoy the room and beds and the service with a late check in. The heated room waiting for us was bliss

We stayed here for one night over the Matariki weekend. Great layout of rooms for our 3 kids and ourselves downstairs . Plenty of towels and toiletries for us all which was great. Bathroom opened up into the lounge which was a little weird, but ok. Well stocked coffee and milk and great little kitchen with all things needed to make meals. Great options on TV with Netflix and Disney which was cool. Good location for four square, restaurants and other amenities. The breakfast was fully booked out so we couldn’t take up this option, which we would have liked. Parking was very handy right outside the unit. Walking distance to the lake and other places of interest. A comfortable stay all round.
