great stay, very clean and tidy in the rooms. pool and spa were great, would just say that the pool is cleaned in the morning so isn't available at 9am like the sign says. minor detail tho! family of 5 (kids - 11, 7 and 2) and stayed in a one bedroom. was doable, but maybe go for the two bedroom for the space so that you can store luggage etc easily without taking up space in living areas. but it was fine for us really. one notable negative was the car park. info said each unit had a car park, but we often found the car park full on return. so other guests had more than one car. Not a massive one, but maybe a note for the motel to perhaps monitor that somehow overall great stay and we would come up for sure

Great hotel across the street from the lake. Close to the famous airplane McDonald’s, but grocery stores are about a 10 min. walk away. Reception was kind enough to hold my luggage until my room was ready. I would happily stay here again!

The location of this accommodation was good and convenient, which was a positive. However, beyond that, our overall experience was a bit disappointing. We stayed for a full week during the peak xmas season. The pool and spa was one of the reasons we booked for the kids, but after using it once on the first day, it was closed for deep cleaning for the entire week. This was especially disappointing for the kids, and had we known in advance, we would not have chosen to stay here. Although the website advertised daily servicing, this did not occur during our stay of 7 days. I asked twice and was told staff were short, and that we had been added to the cleaning list, but no service ever took place. That said, staff did provide everything we requested each time, towels and supplies, which we appreciated. For longer stays, daily servicing is important to keep rooms clean and tidy. If we were to stay again, I would make sure to request daily servicing regardless. However, due to the issues experienced during this stay, we may not choose to return.

This was a great place to stop for a couple of nights in Taupo. The proximity to the lake and town centre was fantastic - an easy and pleasant walk. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Appreciated the access to washing machines. The games room could do with some maintenance and upgrade of facilities (eg the ping pong table had no net, there was no chalk for the pool cues.) Nevertheless we had some fun games with our seven year old, and had an enjoyable stay.

Staff very friendly, clean and tidy. My only issue is they advertise that they have a pool and spa but they have shut it down until it can be repaired/renovated. It would have been nice to know before we got there as we had children wanting to swim, that was one of the main reasons for choosing Ika Nui.
