The accommodation is in a great area walkable to town or great walks in other direction. Lakefront. Room very clean, bedding/beds appeared very new. Warm. Great little hot tub - didn't have time to try the pool - but was heated. Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Some room features a bit tired - but to be expected at this price-point. I can imagine downstairs rooms a bit noisy if upstairs rooms occupied. Would definately stay again.

Room was a tad small but good - had everything I needed. Great view from restaurant - right on the lake so perfect position. Lots of parking available but was there in the off season.

Friendly staff around the property. Good dining in the restaurant. Would be great if there was bed side lamps to have alittle light without having to keep the main light on. Would be very nice to have hooks in the bathroom to hang up towls after showering to allow for drying.

Nice tidy room, clean bathroom. Only fault was the matress had been well used, i woke up with a bad back both nights. Tidy facilities and friendly staff who showed me to my room on arrival. I would stay again.

Can’t find the parking and they take card for security bond which was my first and weird experience in this lodge otherwise i didn’t had this experience anywhere. Other things is good and comfortable.

Staff(one person only) was fantastic. Everything else was meh. The motel is still in the 80s but charging prices that are well into the 21st century. Our TV didn't work. No microwave. Mugs needed to be washed in the bathroom sink (yuk) etc.

Resturant was nice, food was really good, cosy friendly, helpful staff. Would have been good if the room had a nice big couch and tv in the lounge area for family time. Kind of a strange layout, it was a very cold day in taupo, but the room was surprisingly warm after turning on the small heaters provided. Larger milks for cuppas would have been nice.

Wifi was very spotty which was frustrating. Lacked things in the room like tissues, conditioner & moisturizer which we found in other hotels of similar price points. Also, no breakfast options.

Pictures misleading. Low end hotel, no elevator you have to lug up baggage to 2nd floor. No staff at front desk after 9pm so when you return you can't come in front entrance and if issues arise like other guests loud and obnoxious late at night, after 10pm past 1am, no one to deal with them. Supposed to be non smoking hotel but not monitored or enforced. In morning no hot water for shower at 8:30-10am started shwr waited a bit for cold water to warm up. Left it for a couple mins and it started to feel slightly warmer and tried to get in hoping it would get hot. So got wet under luke warm water, cranked to hot but no hot and then got completely cold water again so froze.Had to get out cold & wet. We called front desk but no answer. Had to get dressed and go downstairs to reception desk. When we expressed concerns with all these issues the receptionist was a kind & sympathetic staff member who offered us a room chg, but wanted to see room 1st and chk if there would be hot water so she gave us a key to look. When we returned agreeing to move it took over 2hrs from 10am to 12pm, before we could chg room, which we had to move ourselves after waiting over 1 1/2 hrs because only 1 lady to chk ppl in & out, so we lost our enrire morning and still didn't have time to get a shwr or breakfast as we were already late for our planned brunch, had to skip, and rush to a booked tour. Once we finally got into new room we noticed loud music below, church using room. No receipts at chkout.

The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was tidy and clean. The complex air conditioning made a constant noise loud enough to keep me awake. I did not sleep at all and so I struggled the next day.
