Beautiful spot

Room was great. Had a little difficulty climbing the step to the second floor but they assisted us with our suitcases. Normally would take advantage of kayaking and biking but friends dont do either

We loved our room and the property. Our only complaint was the breakfast. It did not look like the pictures and while a lot of fresh fruit there were no breakfast meat or egg option. . I was looking forward to the bagels and salmon shown in the picture. It would not deter us from coming back at all, will just be prepared next time to have other breakfast options.

Everything was great except we were in an heat wave and the pool was not functioning for and the Bay water was full of jellyfish. This was for the entire time of our stay.

We stayed one night, not taking full advantage of Wylder: it's more than a hotel (yet maybe less than a resort: you would be happy not venturing off the property for a day, but you might not camp out there without other activities in mind). Upon arrival, there was still time for us to take out two kayaks and play some cornhole; we ate at the excellent crab shack on site and enjoyed smores at one of the firepits that night. We thought the continental breakfast was above average. The entire space and layout is beautiful. Had we stayed longer, we would have taken a bicycle ride, enjoyed the pool, and had a sauna. Our room was fine, the bathroom had a toilet and a tub with a showerhead (but no bath spigot, so not really set up for a soak) -- the sink was in the room proper. The light switches were oddly placed. And we would have liked to have rinsed off sand at a shower or footbath by the shore. This is a bit nitpicky: the point is that Wylder has many great features but is missing some of the conveniences and little touches that would make things "seamless."

Great 4th of July weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend at Wylder. The food and view was great. Enjoyed blue crabs. The room is not big but we didn't spend much time in the room. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when needed.

Good place to destress, look out for flies

Good family trip. Generously sized room with access to saltwater pool, non motorized water sports, bikes. Friendly staff. Too many flies and mosquitos inside room, restaurant, outside. Wylder needs to invest in electric bug zappers strategically placed at the outer perimeters of the property. Restaurant menu is overpriced and uninspired.

Hotel is very charming but lacks things like a fridge in the room or ice machines available to the public. The room was small but adequate, and the grounds and restaurant were very good. The pool was dominated by parents and children who parked themselves in the pool and stayed all day. No lounge chairs were available and pool was taken. Having said all that, the hotel is very pet friendly.

Beautiful location on the water and room decor. However, mixed up rooms and didn't provide the room that was requested. Also the service at the ticklers crab shack was not very accommodating or friendly. They charge $3 slice for cutting birthday cake which we were willing to pay for but didn't end up on our check so we had to step off property to enjoy a birthday cake which is a ridic policy - add more desserts to the menu and won't need to bring a cake from an outside vendor. Also, was rude when asking for silverware to use for the birthday cake.

Quick Romantic Getaway

My wife and I had a wonderful 2 days away for my birthday. Highlights were the food at Crabbies (best crab cakes I've ever tasted), morning coffee on the pier, the salt water pool and the sunset cruise. The only downside was that there were a ton of kids there. We have 3 kids of our own and were hoping for a more adult atmosphere, but what are you going to do? Oh yeah, my favorite thing of all was taking the complimentary beach cruises to the sputh point of the island. It was a great 6 mile bike ride. The wifi and tv had poor connections, but I embraced being off the grid for a weekend. Place would be perfect if it was adults only.

Couples Chesapeake getaway

Great, very inclusive facility. Quiet evening, pool, and hot sauna was a fun distraction. Dinner at Ticklers Crab Shack was so good! the crab & veggie soup was fantastic. The morning coffee and offerings was good as well.

Liked the location on the Chesapeake Bay. Did not like the fact that the tv in the room did not work - no way to turn the volume up so could not hear anything from the tv. No coffee maker in the room - a huge gaping hole in their hospitality. Dangerous steps leading up to the room. No elevators in the building. The food in their restaurant was good, however. Would not stay there again.
