The Space:

Find your center on the Oregon Coast inside this adorable, three-story home within sight (and sound) of the ocean. Here, there's a place for everyone to call their own both inside and out. Whip up hot breakfasts or full-course dinners in your well-equipped kitchen with a view, dine together at the nearby, sunlit table, and then settle into the warm and inviting living area with comfortable furniture and a cable-equipped flatscreen TV. On the top floor of this home, you'll find an open, multi-purpose space with a TV room that the kids will love, plus a quiet, furnished space with views of the water where you can read, play games, or just relax. Outside, this home offers a deck with wrap-around bench seating for sunny summer days.



What's nearby:

This wonderful Oceanside location is right near a state recreation area and miles of soft, sandy beaches for flying kites, building sandcastles, and beachcombing. If you work up an appetite while out on the sand, stop by Roseanna's Cafe or Blue Agate Cafe for a light snack or a full meal - both are easily walkable and offer takeout. And for additional must-visit destinations, take a drive into Tillamook, home of the world-famous Tillamook Cheese Factory, just a little over a 11 miles from your door.

Oceanside beach house

We were only at the property for two nights. Our party included three adults and one springer spaniel. The house was super clean and the yard was lovely. We didn't use the upstairs bedroom and seating area because the stairs are very steep. We were concerned about traveling them down at night to use the bathroom. The bedrooms are small and had no hangers, so we couldn't hang up any clothes. The bathroom is lovely and quite small. The kitchen was great: well equipped and spacious with plenty of storage for our food. The living room and dining room were open and light with a view from the dining room of the ocean down the road. The house is a stone's throw from the beach, but the road is somewhat steep. (An elderly neighbor was walking up with his wife and slipped and fell on rain-dampened pavement and had difficulty getting up.)

Problems

To cook dinner selected pan and put on stove. Heated it set off the fire alarm. Apparently the pan had something on the bottom. Difficulty cleaning "it" off the stove. One garbage bag liner for a weeks stay of 7 people. One roll of paper towel--spare roll under the sink was soaking wet. Only hangers for clothes were 3-4 on the back of doors to 2 bedrooms. Locale is excellent. House was well furnished but amenities were lacking. We love Oceanside and have stayed at several different places but this was very disconcerting.

Great location, good house

When we arrived, the outlets and electronics were not working. There was no way to communicate with the host because there’s no cell service in Oceanside unless your accommodations have WiFi. We figured out some fuses must have blown, found the fuse box, and got everything up and running again. The rest of our stay was great. House was clean and comfortable. Some of the furniture had been changed out since the property photos had been taken. The walk to the beach was short. We enjoyed the porch. Beds were comfy. Lots of stairs. Not for anyone with mobility issues.

Cozy place near the beach

We had a lovely time at this cozy house to celebrate thanksgiving with our family. Plenty of room for six people and a dog, and a great location near the beach. The beds were in varying degrees of uncomfortable, but everything else was great!

Oceanside OR beach retreat

Location was great for us, just a short walk to the beach and the (only) two local restaurants. House is newly remodeled and was comfortable. Beds were comfortable but on the firmer side, most of the pillows available were pretty firm. Kitchen is pretty bare bones, just the very basics provided. Couldn’t find a spatula, and only salt, pepper, seafood seasoning and coffee were provided. Be sure to bring your own groceries with any condiments and spices you need, and get your perishables, fruit and vegetables in Tillamook as the local stores don’t carry a lot. Plan to go to Netarts or Tillamook for meals mid week if you aren’t cooking- the local restaurants have limited hours and may not be open. Internet was excellent, lots of TV stations and Netflix, but no books, games or puzzles, so again, bring your own along. Would be nice to have a soap dish in the bathroom and a shampoo/soap holder in the shower.
