Hotel Austral Ushuaia offers a solid and convenient base for exploring the city, thanks to its central location close to restaurants, shopping, and the port. Despite being right in the heart of things, the hotel is pleasantly quiet, making it easy to rest after a day of activities. Rooms are clean and comfortable, though it’s worth noting that the “annex” does not include daily room cleaning, which some travellers may find inconvenient. Be cautious with the shower temperature, as it can swing from scalding hot to cold during peak usage times. The hotel provides a very basic continental breakfast, but keep in mind that it doesn’t start until 07:30—which I found too late for my planned daily excursions. Note: The hotel sits on a very steep hill, so be prepared for a challenging walk when coming up from downtown. Overall, Hotel Austral Ushuaia is a practical and well-located option, especially for travellers who value convenience and a peaceful stay, with just a few quirks to keep in mind.

Fiz a viagem sozinha e me senti segura durante toda a estadia. Os quartos ficam no térreo. Quarto espaçoso. Chuveiro maravilhosa e quente. Quarto e banheiro com aquecedor. Café da manhã com variedade de opções, ovo cozido, salada de frutas, queijo, presunto, meia lua, pão doce, pão de forma, bolo, e outros. No quarto não tem cortina blackout, então o quarto não fica um breu, mas fica escurinho. Precisa colocar uma placa na porta para ter o serviço de limpeza. Quarto sempre limpo. Não tem condicionador e o shampoo é de sachê, cheirinho é bom. Sabonete é de barra. hotel é em uma subida, a princípio achei que teria dificuldade de chegar cansada e ter que subir a rua, mas foi bem tranquilo, tem escada ou rampa na rua. A localização dele é otimaaa! Todos na recepção são simpáticos e solícitos. Fechei o passeio do parque nacional com eles. Gostei bastante.

Comfortable and spacious suite

The suite I stayed was clean and spacious. The bed is comfortable. The location is very convenient too, close to restaurants and shopping. The complimentary breakfast was good. The only complaint I have is that the hot water didn’t work first. The front desk lady came to check and found it was turned off. She turned it on and it worked fine since.

Great mid-grade stay

Two blocks from the Main Street (quiet) with a simple yet good breakfast. Very large room that did have some minor repair needs. Overall a great place with a nice staff at a fair price. Clean and comfortable which are important to me.
