We were a bit unhappy with the bed in the room and the front desk quickly found us another room with a different bed. Very quick, and with no fuss or muss. I usually stay with chains, but always like the JBI when in Victoria BC, Canada. Very nice and clean, with a great location, and parking! Will stay here again in the future. Have been frequenting the JBI for 10 years now

A comfortable, basic place to stay in Victoria at a good price, with a great pub in the basement. If someone wants luxury they will want to look at other properties but this place offers everything someone needs for a night or two, very close to downtown.

We’ve stayed here several times in the past 12 years, and continue to return because of the wonderful charm and character of the hotel, excellent location, and kind and helpful staff, including Anmol who is delightful! The rooms are not huge, which really isn’t a problem. Coffee and tea are not available in the rooms, but are available during certain hours in the lobby. Mini fridges are available in some rooms. We’ll definitely be continuing to stay here!

Lots & lots of stairs!! And the radiator heat on the 3rd floor is extreme. Need to open all windows & use fan unless you like 25 C. The corner of our room dipped as the building settled. Plugs are at a premium. But the staff is wonderful and it was booked solid!

It is an older property but nicely renovated, clean and comfortable. The restaurant and pub were excellent- good food and drink. Began to understand a lot of regulars go there and support it. Very nice and quiet atmosphere.
