We’ve stayed in many lovely rental homes as a family over the years, and this one by far had the most character and felt the most like “home.” Incredible lot with several areas to choose from for quiet reading or a group meal, huge cozy bedrooms so far from the common areas, we never worried about waking our late risers! Large dining room enabled is to host multiple meals with local family. Great light and a perfect location, just a few minutes’ walk from downtown. Hosts were incredibly accommodating, communicative, and kind. We very much hope to be back!

We loved this place (probably more than any other vacation rental from the past 10 years). There wasn't a single thing we needed, that the place didn't already have. So they've thought of everything. I especially loved having supplies on hand to make coffee, was a nice touch (I even borrowed a nice double wall metal coffee cup because I forgot mine, was nice not having to buy one again). Only very minor issue was the AC was a bit cold downstairs at night. The same thermostat upstairs runs the unit for up and downstairs. However, being a bit cold at night is never a complaint of mine while I'm sleeping (it's kind of a plus). We found the beautiful extra blankets in the upstairs hall closet but didn't have to use any. I would DEFINITELY rent this house again next year (and we are planning on doing that for sure). It is only a 1/2 mile walk to downtown which is pretty neat. We walked there and back a few times during our stay. I would recommend this place to our best friends and family.

Beautiful property walkable to downtown

This property in downtown Waynesville is SO charming and unique. We had a group of friends coming into town for a charity race and this house offered the perfect floor plan, outdoor gathering spaces and proximity to the downtown event. The house was clean and very well appointed with everything you need for meal preparation. The rooms are large with lovely ambiance. I stay in a lot of VRBO properties annually and this one is really something special!

Highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this beautiful house. The house is in a perfect location and even walkable to many fun Waynesville activities. It was very comfortable for a large family of varied ages and offered ample quiet space if needed. It was well stocked with ample supplies and the kids enjoyed the outdoor areas. We would definitely rent this beautiful home again!

Super find in Waynesville!

Really a wonderful well appointed house. We really appreciated the toiletries, laundry supplies and coffee. We walked to dinner downtown every night, and enjoyed our coffee and breakfast on a patio or porch every morning! The owner was very informative about local activities, etc.. Already wondering how soon I can go back...

Family Reunion in the Mountains

We came to the area for a family reunion & needed enough space for my children + spouses. We knew nothing of the town and really lucked out with its location as it was central to everything. The house itself was very clean , the beds were extremely comfortable, and the layout and decor of the home was really fun and homey. Thanks for a great “ home away from home”!

Beautiful house

My wife, adult children, son in law, and granddaughter stayed in this wonderful house for 10 days. We were in Waynesville visiting family in the Bethel community area. It was a very comfortable home base for us. In between family gatherings at Sunburst, elk watching at Cataloochee, and shopping trips downtown, we enjoyed the fire pit area, or just relaxing watching TV. I highly recommend this house.

Wonderful Waynesville stay

The first impression is that the place is rambling...but after gaining a little familiarity, we found it rambled in a good way. A way that made it special. The property evokes a Frank Lloyd Wright vibe with sight lines to the outdoors throughout. The views are of beautiful trees and mountains...yet the walk to town is easy. Perfect location. The owners have blessed the guests with many small courtesies including handmade pottery and other hand crafted pieces. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished and it's obvious that the home has been loved and well cared for many years. Our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed each and every day.

This is a delightful house, it has all you could ask for, rural but close to town, equipped with all you would need, it is furnished tastefully with very interesting antiques, the 8 of us enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it .

Retirement celebration

This property was excellent from the very beginning. With pictures and description from the listing, check in, communication with host, cleanliness, location, etc. Betty’s Place is a unique home with lots of character. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home with plenty of space for 6 people. The outdoor patio areas and fire pit were very nice. You can walk to town, but be mindful you are in the mountains and there are hills. We would recommend Betty’s Place and the host Matthew to our friends. We would definitely stay here again.

Property was well kept and just as photos showed. The 7 of us (adults), loved the outdoor spaces and the smaller, more cozy spaces plus the large dining table. Kitchen was well stocked. Hated to leave!

Came up for daughter’s graduation and the pictures don’t do justice to this house. There was plenty of room for all of us and great patio for friends to join. Loved the large driveway since we sometimes had 5 vehicles. Plenty of room. Loved learning the history of the house and all the nooks and crannies to explore. The pictures of the boys was a hot topic for our family also. We hated that our trip was so short and hope to book again in future since daughter staying in area!
