We had a bad experience. The room we had was next to the laundry. The dryer was malfonctionning and so very noisy. People speaking loudly in the laundry until late in the evening. The breakfast was also not satisfaying. Canned fruit, industrial food.

Great hitel, room is very well equipped. Laundry facilities for guests. Parking at the rear of the hotel. Beautiful views from our window over Wellington harbour. We actually went back for a night after we’d visited the South Island. It’s close to the shopping area, restaurants, and the Te Papa museum on the water front.

Located in an absolutely beautiful spot, close to everything. Super convenient position. Friendly staff happy to assist with any enquires. Very nice buffet breakfast and restaurant. Our only issue was that the aircon in the restaurant and bar areas was too cold. If you’re visiting Wellington this hotel ticks all the boxes in terms of location, views and comfort.

Recommended hotel

This hotel has great rooms, wonderful staff and is in an ideal location on the waterfront. We arrived around 1pm which meant we were able to secure a hotel parking space. The restaurant was very good, and provided us with a nice view over the bay whilst dining. If we returned to Wellington we would definitely stay in the Copthorne again.

Wellington Hotel

For an international hotel and capital city, this hotel was average. I was put next to a laundry with the noise of banging going on till 11pm. Room could do with an update, for mobility the corridors and lifts and doors for small to get through. Restaurant bars close 9pm and 11pm of Friday/Saturday nights. Breakfast only till 9:30 checkout very early. But service very good.

Liar liars pants all burned up

Had asked for parking and assured it was set. Showed up and no parking. Had to park car full of luggage on street a few blocks away and walk back to hotel. Exhausted and just wanted to eat and sleep. Called room service…”sorry we just closed” At least the bed was comfy.

Hotel was very nice. Only complaint we had was that getting to the rooms in the back portion of the hotel is a bit of a hassle. Two elevator rides are required, and walking through two lobbies.

Amazing views

We loved our room overlooking the Wellington marina, it was close to everything and the views were incredible. The room was large and vet clean, the shower was great and the parking was convenient. We parked our car and just used Uber for everything.

Beautiful views

Absolutely gorgeous views of the harbor from our room. Beautiful. Beds were very comfortable and room just perfect. Quiet air conditioning and cool whenever we needed. Enjoyed the bar area to gather at night and lounge watching tne Australian Open on tv with drinks. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.
