The staff was welcoming and explained to us where our room was located. It was about a 200metre walk from reception. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. Wonderfully spacious, each bedroom had its own bathroom (x1 with shower only and x1 shower over bath). The beds in one of the rooms were so soft and uncomfortable. The kitchen space was adequate, although there was hair in the freezer yikes! The place is very dated but clean enough. We just stayed one night so it was fine.

When booking at The Avenue, request a room that is not by the road. We found it quite noisy.
The room was lovely, clean and sunny with a little veranda that you could get a bit of fresh air. The beds were comfortable and decorated to a high standard. It will be great when the restaurant is open. We have no hestitation to stay again. Thank you.
(The only thing to have improved the room is to repaint the bathroom ceiling as the paint is peeling off. We had an iron but no ironing board).

We had a 2queen bed room,one bed was ok for one person as it sagged the other closer to the bathroom was hard and you could feel the springs digging your in the back so you didnt get a comfortable sleep. Lots of paint chips and scratches and a hole in the back of the bathroom door. Towels were quite old and small ,mould in the shower. For$ 210 a night should have been alot better. Also major constructions happening to the bar and restaurant so no availability of food or drinks. With no pre notification of this. Lucky there were places close by to eat and get a drink. Probably wouldnt stay there again sadly.
The hotel is well placed on Victoria Avenue with the town centre within easy walking distance. The room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom quite roomy.
NO dining room. NO pub. NO room service. NO airconditioning. NO soundproof doors. At more than $200 per night. The bathroom was full of long black hair (I have no hair). The furniture was uncomfortable. Thank heavens, the bed was up to standard. Disgusting.
I used to have blind faith in Copthorne Hotels. Not any more after this horrendous ripoff.
This hotel is pretty tired and some facilities are in need of an upgrade. The ironing board possibly came with the hotel; it was shocking. The shower flooded the whole bathroom. ‘Deluxe’ suites are on the road side and noisy until night time. They’re also super hot -no aircon so you def need the in-room fan.
I didn't realize we had no cooking facilities. We have stayed there a couple of times so I automatically assumed we could cook in room. I also paid a bit more than normal. Only jug for hot drink available. So check youf room for cooking facilities when booking online.

The room was clean and the beds comfortable, although we would have preferred to have pillow cases in addition to the pillow protectors, to be applied to our pillows. The shower was too powerful to the point of being uncomfortable. However for our short stay the room had all we needed.
