This was the worst Holiday Inn express I have ever stayed at. The check-in was fine. I particularly chose this place because I was playing in a soccer tournament and really needed a good hot tub soak. Once I arrived, I found out the hot tub was out of order. The pool was very cold. When I asked the front desk person what the temperature of the pool was, she replied “room temperature.” I have never heard that to describe the temperature of a pool
in my life. I almost laughed out loud, but she was dead serious.
The icemaker on my floor was out of order and when I talked to the person who was serving breakfast, she kept saying no, it wasn’t out of order. It honestly was, so that was a weird interaction.
I don’t need to tell you this is a very tired building. Attempts have been made to update. Some are good and some are very sad. The door frame of the bathroom was totally corroded, and someone had tried to paint or patch over the corrosion. Looks like the shower tiles have also been painted, and I could see the mold growing in the cracks of the upper tiles.
I did appreciate the coffee in the lobby and the newspapers.
The breakfast had fairly edible items as well as standard yogurt, oatmeal, and fruit, which is always welcome.
I will definitely stay at a different place next time. I’m in the area, but unfortunately, I have to say that this location gives the whole chain a bad reputation.
