This newly built stone efficiency cottage is a companion to the larger Althea Cottage at the front. It has the amenities of a nice hotel room plus a well stocked kitchenette but in a private location.

In 2026 a full bedroom with ensuite bath was completed at the rear so that the Murphy bed can be kept closed and the whole original studio used as a living/dining room. This will also allow space to be used by a third or fourth person with the bed lowered just for sleeping. A stairwell separates the two bedrooms with a privacy curtain at its lower entrance.
During your stay at this cottage, you're just a quick walk from Saba Heritage Center. Laundry facilities are available. Free WiFi and a kitchenette are available in the cottage.

The “Peter Hyatte” cottage was exceptional during our stay. Clean, quiet, well maintained, and conveniently located. The host, Jeffrey has to be commended on such a pleasant stay. He arranged pick up at the airport, greeted us as if we were family, explained the property, told us which restaurants were opened or closed, gave insight on the hiking trails and the the island itself. Jeffrey provided his phone number and said “if there’s anything you need call me”. We took him up on his offer when we were on the other side of the island, stranded on a hiking trail in a rain storm. We called Jeff, gave him our location and he contacted our favorite taxi driver Peddy to come and get us. That’s a host who cares, thanks again Jeff!Fun facts…ask about the origin of the names of the cottages and what job Peddy did growing up, you’ll be amazed.

Our trip started with a cab pick up at the airport arranged by Jeff. He then met us at the property, showed us around and gave us some very good meal recommendations. We decided to venture up Mt Scenery the next day and unfortunately for me, I tripped 5 steps before finishing at the bottom and severely sprained both of my ankles. I texted Jeff and he came and picked us up and took us to the hospital. Jeff also came back to the hospital to pick us up and dropped us off again two days later for follow up. I can honestly say Jeff was the kindest VRBO host whose property we have stayed at. He is very knowledgeable about the island and seemingly knows everyone. Next time we go back, we will definitely stay at either Peter Hytte or Jeff’s even larger property next door!

It's safe to say I could absolutely live here!!! This cottage is in the heart! Jeffery is amazing. He's helpful, laid back and kind LIKE EVERYONE here! I'm booking again soon. Where else can you sleep with all your doors and windows open in nature and be safe?

Did not want to leave!

Cozy well equipt cottage. From hiking sticks to water filter and from coffee to insect repellent (not used). Etcetera.You name it.
