Slow internet, lack of service- we are out of coffee 5 minutes after we get it. Food options at the onsite dining were TERRIBLE and very unhealthy. If you are so concerned about the environment, why not care about the quality of food you serve the people in it!!!
The location was great. Staff was friendly but I asked for room refresh services for our 4 days stay on two different occasions and did not get it. I caught a nice young man in the hallway, and he graciously emptied our trash even when he said I was not on his schedule. The deluxe room was nice but small for 4 people with luggage and stuff. Very little storage room for suitcases and hanging clothes for 4 people.
The rooms were average size but very clean. We did have to ask for washcloths and for coffee because we had not been restocked, but we got those items promptly. It was quiet, but the restaurants were a distance to get to, though there was a shuttle if you wanted to wait for it. Compared to what appeared to be similar motels, though they were further away, the cost seemed rather pricey, considering the amenities provided!
There was no microwave in our room. In the cold weather if we had a microwave to have some hot water would have been good. Have to depend on their restaurant for food. We stayed in the lodge for 4days. But there was no room service for these days. We had to ask for extra towels, toilet papers and coffee powders.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
No TV, No fridge, very spotty WiFi. Dinner options were limited. One place stopped seating at 7:00, the other was cafeteria style and ran out of items on menus. Limited breakfast options.
I was very disappointed with the service, especially the response to my request to clean the room or at least empty the trash and change towels. We stayed for 3 nights (which is more than average). We asked twice each morning and no one took care of the request, even though they were nice on the phone and promised to fulfill the request. For a hotel of this size and at the price they charge, I expect some minimum required. Maybe a 2-star hotel or motel would be better, and then maybe there are no expectations.
Central location in the park. Large twin room with comfortable beds, refrigerator, bath and shower, separate sink outside the bathroom. Room was clean, warm and cosy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good range of eating options at Canyon Village with well stocked grocery store. Parking was not immediately available outside the lodge which made transporting luggage to and from the room a bit of a challenge in the snow but otherwise it was an excellent stay.
Location, location, location, was great! Friendly staff but not very well organized. It took two days and four requests to get washcloths. Each request they nicely apologized and even offered to discount my room 10%. Never got the discount. We stayed in the older cabins but they were extremely clean. It would be nice if they had outdoor seating. I recommend staying there for great access to the park.
The Washburn Lodge was a clean and quiet and an easy walk to Canyon Village for meals - and a great place to stay if you are wanting to hike the north and/or south rim of the canyon.
