What makes this special is the chance to rent both this house and Villa La NiCChia—adjacent but completely separate—at the same time. A rare opportunity (but not an obligation!) in Liguria, a region that is not very flat and doesn't have many large open spaces because it's squeezed between the sea and the mountains, but it's full of stunning locations. Our property is one of these. So, friends and family can all gather—only when they choose—to fully enjoy this corner of paradise with all its wonders. Just like us during family times.
The elegance of Villa La Maclura lies in its comfortable simplicity. It’s located at 380 meters above sea level in the scenic, peaceful hills of Alassio — the well-known tourist beach resort - just a short ten-minute drive from us. The house is part of the private Borgo (its earliest record dates back to 1522), which is enclosed within the grounds of an ancient castle. It consists of three country houses: Villa la Nicchia, Il Gombo, and a private residence for our family. My husband, Riccardo, and I will stay in the attic of the nearby Villa La NiCChia to provide you with steady yet discreet assistance with all your needs, including garden maintenance, pool monitoring, irrigation, and appliance maintenance. Each house has its own entrance, garden, pool, chill-out area, BBQ, and parking space. The pool at Villa Maclura will be open from April through the end of October. During the middle season, guests can choose whether they prefer cold water or bask in the sun! The property includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a lounge, and a large kitchen, all spread across three floors, exclusively for guests. Originally a farmhouse, the house has been transformed into an elegant small mansion after a recent, thorough renovation: attention was paid to color schemes and accessories, furniture, and preserving original materials—terracotta floors, visible wooden beams, stonework, and an ancient slate staircase (dating back to the 9th century AD!) along with a fireplace. Many features reflect the historical past, such as our medieval tower, which the City of Alassio has designated as a symbol of the town.
PLEASE NOTE
*Due to technical reasons, reservations between March 31 and April 30, 2026, must be made at least eight days in advance.
*Villa La Maclura is part of a single property—the historic Borgo of the family castle—which includes three detached but nearby houses, located 5.5 km from the center of Alassio. It is accessible via a typical Ligurian road with two lanes and many curves, with the last section (1.2 km) being narrower due to terrain conditions.
*Reading and observing the house rules are part of the rental agreement. You will receive these before your arrival.
*We prioritize flexibility on many matters, especially regarding the two additional fees we charge on an as-needed basis. One is the additional fee for good LPG heating (1), which we cannot estimate in advance. We will calculate the consumption together on the morning of departure; the cost is likely to be around €5.50 per m³.
The other concerns the final cleaning fee (2), which is not shown in the website payment summary because it depends on the number of guests and the number of nights stayed. The minimum fee is €100, and the maximum is €160, payable on the morning of departure. The Tourist Tax is €1.50 per person per night. For your information, the Alassio Municipality has decided that tourist tax payments are only accepted from the property owner, not via any booking platform.
*Check-in is available from 4:00 p.m.; check-out is by 9:30 a.m.
