The shower is small. And, the water changes temperature on you drastically. My husband and I both were burnt by the extreme hot water that would come out all of the sudden. We also had a few spiders in the room. The bed makes squicky noises. It is in a good location. Close to everything, This was the only plus. The reception area closes early. No access to coffee when there’s no one at front desk.

Good location as close to everything but not right on main street. Good to have frig & micro in room. Would have been nice to have a chair to sit in while in room as only had bar stools. Otherwise very comfortable place.

Our ferry back got cancelled due to poor conditions. Staff was very accomodating and friendly to let us figure out our situation and let us stay free of charge til our new departure time.

Our room had a leaky bathroom sink/water connection that my gf slipped in and nearly fell. Additionally the bathroom light flickered and had no windows. These issues were reported early the morning following checkout and the sink was not fixed u til late afternoon. The light was reported as fixed but wasn’t. While this hotel was a budget choice, the previous reviews and rating made this hotel appear to be a bargain. It wasn’t. The hall carpet was old and in disrepair. Close to most conveniences of Avalon but that’s the best I can say. Do not recommend.

Online states bar which was reason I booked here and they mentioned they do not have license to sell alcohol. Also paid for ocean view and no ocean view at all! Not the room I booked in pictures. Sorry but this was not a very clean room and host did not come to clean or deliver towels to our room. Disappointing.

Not too far of a walk from the ferry which I enjoyed. The shower curtain let a lot of water get onto the floor which meant I had to sacrifice 1 out of 2 towels and it got dirty. AC was cold. Easy check in and out. I would probably stay again

Staff so friendly and helpful. Cottage Room was clean and perfect for my accommodations. AC was working wonderful!!! Fresh coffe all day at the front desk. Storage room for lounge very convenient!!

There was nowhere to sit. Shower was tiny, water temp fluctuates, nothing to hang up a coat or towels or anywhere to put your toiletries or any other personal items and bed had wheels so it was always rolling around but the bed was comfortable. The staff was nice but the cottage was tiny and old and uncomfortable. The room key always took 5 to 6 trys before it would open. The only light in the room was a light on the ceilingfan bright enough to land an airplane so we had to turn on the bathroom light and close the door so the light over the mirror would turn on. I had a small fridge on my side of the bed the girgled all night and my husband had sink with a very small table between the sink and the bed. I would never stay here again.

Room is quaint and charming. However, the floors were stucky, food remnants left in refrigerator, dirty frying pan and spatula. The baseboards were not cleaned. Towels and sheets were good as was the coffee in lobby, staff was friendly however seemed shocked and powerless to make any changes.

Nice location, a short walk from where Catalina Express drops you off and maybe a block away from the museum. I booked a double room and unfortunately had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get there. Not ideal for a family traveling with a baby, stroller, etc. The double room is a bit cramped. Sink is in the main room and the shower/toilet are behind a very tiny room. It's an old hotel so probably just how it was built. I would say it was definitely clean and an average hotel with the most decent price I could find on Catalina.
