Casita Uvita on vain 10 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä Playa Ballenan kansallispuistosta (3000 kolonnin sisäänpääsymaksu, noin 6 dollaria / päivä), rannalta, kaupoista ja ravintoloista ja kuuluisasta Valashäntästä! Vietä päiväsi rannalla kammata, surffailla ja nauttia auringossa tai käydä kajakin, sukelluksen / snorkkelin tai valaan / delfiinien katselukierroksella aivan tiellä yhden matkanjärjestäjämme kanssa.

Suuri uima-allas ja patio pääsee keittiöstä, ja kaikissa huoneissa on vaihtovirta (keittiö ja kaikki kolme makuuhuonetta)! Huuhtele ja virkistä ulkosuihkussa. Alakerrassa kaksi yksityistä makuuhuonetta jakaa kylpyhuone. Yläkerrassa on suuri avoin parvi, jossa on 2 queen beds, ja koti nukkuu 8 mukavasti. Tontit on kauniisti maisemoitu kaikilla tuoksuisilla trooppisilla kukilla ja kypsillä puilla. Pääset tähän kauniiseen kotiin kaksipyöräisella ajoneuvolla (4x4 ei ole välttämätöntä) ja pysäköi se varjostetun autokaton alle.

Lähistöllä Uvita on vain lyhyen ajomatkan päässä autolla tai pyörällä, ja siellä on runsaasti ravintoloita, kauppoja, ruokakauppoja, pankkeja ja turistitoimintaa. Upeat rannat pistettävät Ballena Coast. Jokaiselle ryhmän jäsenelle, niin nuorille kuin vanhoillekin, löytyy loputon joukko hauskoja paikallisia aktiviteetteja! Lähellä ratsastusta, lintujen tarkkailua, kalastusta, surffausta, valaiden / delfiinien katselua, ATV-retkiä, vetoketjuvuokrausta, melontaa ja villieläinten suojelualuetta. Et voi mennä pieleen lomalla eteläisellä vyöhykkeellä!

Great Family Holiday Spot

We had a wonderful week at Casita Uvita! The host, Tom, was very helpful in getting us settled. The best part was when we saw some monkeys one day in the trees by the pool! The back yard was a real oasis with some interesting birds and the amazing pool. We enjoyed the beautiful beach at Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita (we spotted a sloth in a tree near the entrance), the Uvita Waterfalls and butterfly garden, and it was a good area jump off to other destinations: Osa/Sierpe (ziplining and mangrove boat tour), Alturas Wildlife Rescue Centre, and Manuel Antonio National Park. The patio by the pool did get a little buggy in the evening. The kids loved seeing 3 big toads and the little gecko lizards that come out at night. We enjoyed using the new barbecue to make some dinners. The house was very clean and well equipped. We really appreciated the air conditioning and fans. We were 4 adults and 4 kids aged 7-12 (2 families from Canada) sharing the space. Thank you for a wonderful holiday that we will always remember!

Paradise

Was a great place to stay in Uvita. Really close to the national park. Communication and check in was excellent and it was easy to set up activities through them. Fit all 7 of us comfortably and the grounds were so beautiful. It was fun to bird watch in the back patio area.

Beautiful Property

Our family enjoyed our stay here. We love this house. The property was beautifully landscaped, outdoor shower and the pool were an added bonus. We were able to see many different birds, lizards and butterflies that visited us each day. The property is secure and the neighborhood felt safe. We visited the Whale's Tale, went snorkeling (which was fantastic) and kayaked the mangroves. We could walk to plenty of restaurants and some shopping. The town of Uvita has a laid back atmosphere, not overcrowded and the beach has some of the best sunsets. We would highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful!

We spent 8 nights at Tom and Christine’s with our 3 young children - 5yrs and younger. We had a fantastic time! The house was very well equipped with everything we needed. Tom was quick to locate and drop off a high chair for our youngest. The home is beautiful and very well laid out. We spent the mornings at the beach and our afternoons by the lovely pool. The kids loved playing in the garden as well. Lots of space! And quiet! Tom and Christine’s is the perfect retreat - quiet and peaceful. A car is a necessity, but definitely worth it! Most of the beaches nearby require an admission fee. Ventanas was our favourite! We would definitely stay at this wonderful spot again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Casita Uvita Vacation

We recently returned from our Costa Rica vacation where we spent 4 days at Casita Uvita. This was a perfect piece of paradise to spend a few days at the end of our road trip. We’re a family of four with two young kids (2 and 5) and this property was wonderful for us. Very private on a quiet street about a 10 min walk to the national park entrance (maybe longer if you’re walking with two kids - but doable!). The gardens and greenery around the property make it feel like you’re right in the rainforest - we seen so many beautiful birds while sitting at the pool area. Everything you need is available at the casita, the kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean and comfortable. As some people mentioned in previous reviews, there is no indoor seating area or tv but we never once missed it as the outdoor space is so beautiful at all times of day - rain or shine. Communication prior to and while there was super easy with Tom and Christine and they were both kind and helpful with any questions we had about the casita or the surrounding area. Check in and check out couldn’t have been more smooth. If you’re looking for a little piece of paradise in the Uvita area, this is it.

Great Management; Lovely House

The house is lovely and clean; pool and gardens delightful; management company great; location very convenient to Whale's Tale Beach, restaurants, and town. Just two downsides: 1) no place to sit inside - three bedrooms and kitchen only 2) neighborhood is extremely noisy with two homes under construction during the day and very noisy neighbors at night. Dogs barking incessantly at all hours. Unfortunate because the back patio is a great place to spend the evening.

As Advertised: excellent!

Travel in August at Uvita was wonderful. Sunny most of the day, then rain in the evening. Tom was prompt at check-in and check-out and pleasant. We used their services and trusted in them completely as the reviews were excellent. Catered dinner on the covered porch one night after a sunny day at the beach and it thunderstormed which gave an amazing ambiance. Kids went whale watching, took surfing lessons, jet skiing and waterfall exploring (and diving). The house was very clean and the AC was perfect. And lastly, their exit instructions were the best: basically don't do anything. No need to strip beds or throw out excess food. We had a spectacular time and recommend this home and Uvita.

Great Location

We really enjoyed our trip to Casita Uvita, this is our 5th trip to Uvita and our first time at this house. The location is perfect for walking to the park. The mornings are fantastic by the pool and watching all of the wildlife.

Wonderful home!

My family and I spent a week here over spring break, and it was wonderful! Tom and Christine were so great to work with and so friendly. They had multiple guests checking in for multiple properties at the same time and Tom's car broke down, yet they expertly managed to get everyone to their respective homes for the week and maintained a very "Pura Vida" attitude amongst the chaos! They were wonderful! The house itself was spotless and had all the amenities you could need. Pool was lovely. A/C worked great. It's close to the main part of town and does not have an ocean view, but the tropical backyard and the birds bathing in the pool made up for the lack of view. :) We highly recommend and would stay here again!

Great property in Uvita with excellent hosts

Super convenient property right by Whale Tail. Christine and Tom were awesome and the house is lovely, easy to access and fantastic pool. I would have preferred a house with a view of the ocean and up higher in the hills after visiting. However I didn’t realize that before we came. The property is very private and the gardens are lovely. We were there for a week and went to the Whale Tail beach once - much better beaches and other things to see and we drove so being this close to the beach wasn’t necessary. Tom and Christine were amazing and handled everything like pros from the time of booking until check out. Thank you.

Great Time at Casa Uvita

We had so much fun in Uvita. Tom and Christine were very helpful and easy to communicate with before and during our stay at Casa Uvita. They helped set us up with the right people who knew the local area and we had an amazing time exploring different sights and activities during our time in Uvita. The house was beautiful and after each day of being at the beach or on the water it was sooooo refreshing to be able to come home and go for a swim in the pool.

Oasis in Uvita

Amazing house, amazing property management, amazing location, Pura Vida! Christine and Tom (the property managers) provided excellent open communication from point of booking in March 2020 to when we were able to make it down. They were attentive to every detail including ensuring that all maintenance was addressed promptly - Our party included 4 adults and 2 children (age 4 months and 5 years) All enjoyed the home and felt immediately at ease post check in. Days were spent relaxing by the pool with a BBQ, walking down the road to the beach/whales tale, and doing yoga at Yoga Maya (literally 60 seconds down the road walking) You are also moments away from a plethora of grocery stores, markets, and restaurants. Not to mention the seemingly unlimited expanses of beaches, waterfalls and rainforest that the South Pacific has to offer. The house itself is beautiful - vaulted ceilings with huge functional windows and stone accents - lots of airflow (we hardly needed air conditioning at all) 3 sleeping areas with a fantastic kitchen stocked with basics and a good selection of chefs tools - covered outdoor patio and lagoon like pool area - also included were an outdoor shower, and well landscaped property with loads of native foliage. It's all about the little details when renting houses abroad and they were certainly not spared on our stay. Fresh cut flowers, immaculately cleaned home, fluffy 5 star quality towels and very comfortable beds with no shortage of good quality pillows and extra linens - the pool was well maintained and clean and some basic toiletries provided. If I could give the experience 10 stars I would - and to reiterate - Christine and Tom were beyond helpful every step of the way with directions, restaurant and shopping recommendations and general advice, you don't always get such professional people to deal with and when you do its a joy. Casita Uvita is a gem amongst the competitive rental market in Costa Rica - you definitely won't regret booking :)

A great rental experience

House was great, Tom was on point and a wealth of information. House had Plenty of living space for 4 grown men to relax after surfing and adventuring all day. The garden around the house and pool was quite a treat as well. The house was very secure, we felt very safe sleeping and leaving all of our stuff there. Will definitely be back again.

Our visit to Casita Uvita was phenomenal. This beautiful house is located just a 7 minute walk to the beach at the Marino Ballena National Park. It is also walking distance to several restaurants and a cool farmer’s market that happens on Wednesdays. The house itself is gorgeous with a great, well-equipped kitchen. An amazing tropical park-like garden surrounds it. The house has an outdoor shower and a big covered patio that looks out onto the pool. We could watch the arboreal iguanas, scarlet macaws along with many other birds from the patio. We even saw a group of white-faced monkeys come through the trees one day. The house is also close to grocery stores, the Uvita waterfall, surfing, diving, snorkeling, boating, kayaking, waterfall repelling, We tried them all except diving. A big shout out to Carlos at Bahia Ballena Kayaks. Tom and Christine the property managers were awesome to deal with.
