A great addition to Banff!

I had a wonderful stay at the Otter! Rooms were modern and comfortable, and I enjoyed the selection of coffee and tea they offered to make in the room. The staff were incredibly friendly, and made this solo traveler feel less lonely.

This is the old Swiss village. They did a great reno of the lobby and rooms with modern decor and design. The whole place smells smokey which is great if you like that. The rooms and halls are clean, they aren’t great at blocking sound though. The pools are currently closed. Bring moisturizer, it’s dry anywhere in the mountains but especially here with the smoke and wood everywhere.

Brand new hotel with lots of potential

Though we stayed at this hotel during the final stages of construction (mainly of the amenities), it was an extremely pleasant experience with clean rooms, easy parking, a lovely bar/restaurant, and extremely nice staff. Would definitely consider going back!

Otter Hotel Review Our stay at Otter Hotel on Banff Avenue was nice, but a few issues stood out. The hotel looks new, but housekeeping was inconsistent, often forgetting to deliver the promised coffee and tea. The heater was right next to the bed, making it hard to sleep with it on, and the room wasn’t fully insulated from hallway light. We were also disappointed that the hot tub and pool weren’t available on-site, requiring a trip to the sister hotel. While the location was great, these inconveniences affected our overall experience.

We decided on a weekend getaway and the service and stay were amazing. We brought our dog and they gave him toys and treats when we checked in and had a water bowl and bed brought up before we arrived. The rooms were great, bed and pillows were very comfy and the layout of the rooms really felt perfect, not too open but not too tight either. Hottubs were currently closed but were able to go next door to Canoe to use theirs, was about a 3 min walk from the room.

New property, not quite finished as the pools and hot tub were closed. Option to use the facilities next door at the Canoe Hotel were offered. Coffee and tea in room with small fridge. Bus passes were a bonus and great option for trips into downtown.
