At the Emerald Outback, located nearby, you can access hiking trails and mountain biking. Downtown Banner Elk is a quick 10 minute drive down the mountain. Travel 27 miles and you can be at Linville Gorge, Grandfather Mountain, Blowing Rock, or Boone. There are local festivals all season long including the famous Mile High Kite Festival.
