Lovely bar and restaurant area, and really nice, helpful, welcoming staff. We had dinner and breakfast on site. The veggie curry was made gluten free for my partner by removing the chapatti, with nothing offered as a substitute, which made the dish overpriced. No porridge was available at breakfast either, even though I asked in advance, but gf muesli was, and it was very good.
It is a very old, historic building that is quite worn out. I imagine the running costs impact greatly on maintenance, but the bathroom in particular was extremely tired. That said, there was plenty of hot water, nice toiletries and very good water pressure.
