Lovely bar and restaurant area, and really nice, helpful, welcoming staff. We had dinner and breakfast on site. The veggie curry was made gluten free for my partner by removing the chapatti, with nothing offered as a substitute, which made the dish overpriced. No porridge was available at breakfast either, even though I asked in advance, but gf muesli was, and it was very good. It is a very old, historic building that is quite worn out. I imagine the running costs impact greatly on maintenance, but the bathroom in particular was extremely tired. That said, there was plenty of hot water, nice toiletries and very good water pressure.

Easy check in. We had parked elsewhere as underground carpark appeared closed but apparently you have to get a code from reception to use their carpark. Breakfast very good indeed. Lady serving breakfast is excellent at her job. Would stay again. Room 5 was quiet, could do with a lick of paint but very clean.

Good central position.

An older hotel with character. The bed was a little firm but the room was a nice size and comfortable with a good en-suite which was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was nice with a good selection to start the day off with.

Our room was above the kitchen so it smelt of chips and bacon if the bathroom window was open - which it was because it was warm. The main room window wouldn’t open

Happily stay again

Secure Parking, easy check in at the bar (which encouraged me to order a much needed pint lol) with friendly service. Very clean and tidy room, comfy bed. Stayed and ate in the bar that night and had a tasty burger and chips. A stay that made me think next time I am down Frome way I would book here again without hesitation.

A wonderful stay. Room was fabulous,clean,comfortable bed,spacious. Service from the staff,notably Wayne, was 2nd to none.Nothing was too much trouble. We have booked again and will certainly stay at The George for all future stays in Frome.

Really good stay. The staff are incredible throughout the day, regardless who is working. Everyone cares, thoughtful, kind and considerate. It's so refreshing to be handled with such care and thought. Breakfast was excellent, and a must have - proper sausages and bacon on the full english, and they have mastered the art of a poached egg! Some noise from the main road of an evening, but you can't do anything with that if you are at the front of the property and close to the road. Rare gem for parking, safe and secure in private car park. A tremendous stay, and a 10/10 hotel. A refreshing level of customer service with genuine people. Cannot recommend enough and really appreciate the work of the team there.

Always great service and sparkling clean! The building is old and some peeling paint/cracks here and there but thats to be expected. Great breakfast, comfy bed snd good shower. Can't ask for more, really!
